Was a great day, wouldn’t have changed any of it. 2 weeks in Italy has made up for the rain anyway I’m back to work Thursday

Hit and miss at the minute here’s a bit of what I’ve been up to over the past 12 months

created a new parking space here digging out solid heavitree stone l, breaker earned it’s keep on this job. It’s a shared drive which is being relaid at some point but we have since priced to concrete the parking bay !

Here I dug out ready for a retaining wall which the customer was himself nice little job and lovely customers tea on tap !

here I had to dig out for a new gas tank which need 3m clearance all around about 80 ton out in total ! Customer presumed a days work with wheel barrows

Cant beat a customers assumption.

Looked at a job the other week and they said we have worked out how much muckaway there is.....

Ideal tell me then, length x width x depth Ideal have you X by 2.2 for bulking? No. I said well do that then and thatll be your correct answer

It’s surprising what’s there managed to do it all in 4 days only issue was there carport was in the way so could only get a couple 3 ton dumpers in , we had to dig out the hedge to get a machine down the side

Bit more estate work here. Had to put seperate access in as the neighbour didn’t like the new tennant using the shared path and this is absolutely in the middle of nowhere! Stone man found it first time which surprised me but it turns out he used to farm there !

New footpath to a new business on the local castle estate ! Got asked to do the drainage to which consisted of 200mm reinforced concrete, services and random drains with no correlation to anything turning everywhere including a 6” clay right by our new connection . Turns out it had split and it was relined so we managed to chisel off just enough to get out new pipe in!

As for the past two weeks on lockdown we’ve all been furloughed as the estates don’t want anybody in which is fair enough ! There’s been some riddling (old photo for example ) some flailing and then a bit of a respray for my tailgate

Get yourself some 0-90° adjustable bends mate, only a couple of quid more than regular fittings and you can adjust them in both planes at once.

Does that flail actually run OK on your mini??? I have 50 litres a minute going through mine on an E27 and it's still not brilliant.

yeah that’s a good shout we got lucky really bloke I was working with it’s a pretty patient chap so took it on Yes it runs fine could do with a bit more umph really just been to a demo recently of Ghedhi mowers which ran a lot better ! Bloke said he could change my motor to one of there’s so there’s something else to look into. What brands your flail ?

A right mish mash of jobs since returning from lock down !

A couple trial pits one at 2m deep

An adpave driveway a first for me but hopefully not last brilliant product thanks to @Danny for the advice

A couple extra parking spaces capped with granite clippings one with a little sleeper retaining wall and a concrete apron to keep the stone one the drive!

Then I went out and twatted the neighbours fence whilst laying some concrete stoned the drive up with 20mm scalps tolled in with a 120 roller I was sceptical but by christ it’s gone down hard

Ive spent the last 3 weeks on hire stoning up drives doing all sorts really been lovely having no stress just turning up and cracking on with a good bunch of lads been told there’s a job there if I want it

Not for the minute still trying to take on the family business (year 14 of trying ) and turn it in to my own trying to copy @Gunners this year changing my dumper and pick up truck adding a tilty and focusing on being the complete small hire packing I hate hiring kit when I can get paid for it ! All whilst just keeping the building firm ticking over for the quiet days

Not often I find myself looking forward to a job but I did here. Had to clear the garden, put a sleeper wall in and get it ready for a greenhouse all for a lovely old lady. Sold my first 2 bags of screened topsoil to so all in happy days
