Amateur barrows the belle warrior is the only barrow youāll ever need. Iāve about 5 now and Iāll never buy any other barrow, haemerlin are toys in comparison. 1 belle id say will do 5-6 haemerlins life times if not more

As a 14 year old I'd have happily tracked every single hammerlin into the ground after a few weeks barrowing wet MOT and tarmac in the pouring rain on new estates

I just don't like the belle, too big and bulky for me and if I'm pushing it all day then I'm using the comfortable green ones.
We get a good life out of them and for Ā£50 a go I'd not be fussed if I had to buy one every year.

I know some lads that do the gate/gate post replacements for royal mail depots. Let's just say they will never be out of work.

Reminds me of when I was an apprentice, We had a transmission of a Euclid R36 rigid dumper to swap out in the workshop, was the biggest machine we could get in there. From memory it was about 14 foot wide and the front gates where about 14ft 6āBumpedā ā¦.. by a fecking D11???!!
So on the Friday morning we had it all up and running, but we wanted it up to working temperature before it left to be sure there was no leaks etc. The only place to do this was up and down the industrial estate and i got the job of doing it
this thing could do about 40 MPH and boy did i think i was the kiddy.The boss popped to the shop or something and while he was gone the older mechanic on the job jumped in to give it a few last checks, and while coming back through the gates he caught the pillar and sent red bricks everywhere! He then told me to keep driving it for another while till the low-loader came.... the boss came back, seen the pillar and seen me and you can imagine who got the blame
To be fair Stevie owned up straight away and was like "nothing i can do about it now"
I still remember the bosses face... it was priceless

yeh - absolutely - but it is no excuse for blatant incompetence .. if they did it to their own driveway gates/walls, they would have to pay - I see no difference
combined with the fact that they are paid to be responsible for the vehicles in their charge - there are NO EXCUSES .. had a pedestrian been injured or killed by their actions they would be doing time.
Used to have the same argument with the w
s who used to reverse through my yard fence .. We all fuk up on occasion. Its been rebuilt twice before in last 2 years and numerous scrapes in between.whoever was driving, whatever it was, does not deserve to be in control of it
In the pictures you think how can they do that, when you look in person you can see why.
I've done some repairs for the same firm and literally they have said the drivers world has ended, others not so.
I remember one about 3 years ago. He was so upset about pulling a gate off, total accident. I replaced 3 bricks and had the gate hinge re welded. Easy repair. The only time repairs become costly is when the insurance companies become involved...boy do they rape everyone...just firms up my hatred for them.

I know where you're coming from Alex ... but these are paid 'so called' professional drivers - I revert to the pedestrian argument - substitute a pedestrian for the gate post -the argument collapses

Another pond job.
Got my mates kubota u35 there, I think it's prity decent, always a nice change to drive it compared to my 8025.
However as much room as there is you currently can't get all the way round the pond so fortunately the groundworkers let us use their 6t for reaching the other side
