They can still airlock if not stored correctly. Easy to rectify mess-free but still frustrating.

Yes v v rarely you can get an airlock but at least with open ended cartridge you can push something up the end to force the grease through. I had about 25 different makes and ages of grease guns prior to going fuchs and greasing was the dirtiest most frustrating task going. Not any more

never get me mitts dirty with the Alemites either TBH .... unscrew end cap ... plunge old stick into bin .. end cap off a new one, slip it in, rip the end cap off and screw the head back on ...... get greasier cleaning what's squidged out o' the pins, than refilling 'em

should've bought all the guy selling these had, at 18 quid a shot ...... the G couplers're dearer, unless you buy the ying tong version and frankly, the one i've tried has so far been better than OE. ... better grip & release
that was a steal at 18 quid, if I had knew about them I would have took them all. Buy far the best grease guns I have came across.

I had two and Rory I think had two also @Mark .... some fella on ebay ....... have a permanent search on there for them
TBH they ain't cheap from Alemite ..... but as the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for! " and it's very true of these .. they are the best IMHDO and having used these two for some time now, if I had to replace them, I would pay the asking from Alemite and have the best there is.
Tim swore by them and that was enough for me ... the man knew his sh1t ..... and some

I've got a cat branded one 16 quid of ebay brand new
As I said when I worked in NZ they came free with a couple boxes of cartridges
Which only a few days worth of grease for the company
So there where dozens lying around
I would have brought one back with me but they use a different size cartridge
This seems about the cheapest place for them now

And do people make sure the cartridges are stored with the pull ring facing down ??
It massively improves the problem of air locks
Storing the gun upside down also helps

Could put a zerk nipple in screw top cap and fill from big bucketjust sussed that ..... gotta buy their cartridges

I've one of them, very handy nicely made thing. But as you can imagine doesn't get all nipples serviced..
due to size . Lumatic guns seem ok as well...
