Grease gun heads

Got the dewalt battery gun every time you take g coupler off another squirt seeps out meaning need to wipe off to save a mess?

Same with all battery guns- they build up so much pressure. I've gone back to manual for day to day greasing because of this.

The Makita has a wee valve on the front of it . I wonder would this back the pressure off . I e not tried it I’ve relied on yanking the fecker off
