@TiltyShaun its even worse than the 50% I think regarding benefits. The 50% figure is net contributors to the state. So the way I understand we have less than half the country who are net contributors, we could actually have 80% or more receiving some form of benefit. It's madness. Even we get the child benefit payment for ours i have it on auto direct debit from my account, straight into a junior isa and auto invested in a fund. Nice bonus for kids when they're 18 but I dont believe any of us should be paid to have them. If you cant do the time dont do the crime.

We get the child benefits and the childcare help.
But the childcare help is needed as we are now in the position where the vast majority of the population can't support a family on a single income. If they let us split our tax liability with a stay at home spouse then we wouldn't need as much childcare benefits. And it would cost nothing. Plus you save the admin costs of issuing the childcare benefits.
Also you can't say if you can't do the time don't do the crime as the cost of living has gone up ridiculously in the last 5 years. Although there are some that royaly take the Mick.

Crazy that the tax liability of one persons business Jk Rowling @ £47million in this case probably pays as much tax as as the population of a small town. I certainly don't think we should be scaring the rich off from this country too much!

Watching a good documentary on Churchill. Say what you like about him he wasn't all perfect by his own admission BUT in WW1 despite coming from a life of immense privilege and wealth he choose to fight in the trenches and himself went "over the top" on 30 occasions. How many of our current "leaders" of any party would do that for us now do we think!??

We were damn lucky to have him leading us in ww2 that guy knew how to play his cards . Made what must have been some horrific decisions as well for the greater good.

This morning, The Times is reporting that the NHS waiting list drop is down to removing names from the list of people that have died or no longer require the operation. Less operations carried out than the previous month.

If i remember correctly Mandleson has been banished from the Labour party twice before for various misdemenours he then moved out a got himself a job in rhe EU getting himlself a nice little gold plated pension at the same time.Another cespit place thats riddled with self serving non answerable people. Then the person that supposidly is running the country makes him the Ambassidor and now all of this happening are they really all totally stupid and quite honestly they are not upto the job of running the country. There are certain MP that think they are above the law, I am aftraid that finally an example need to be made to give the rest of them a wake up call and a reminder that we employ them and they work for us. The current party has always shouted out aloud about the tories and called them scum but to be honest this shower of Sh1t are 10 times worse, Its time for a proper change and to have people in power that care about its own people and its own country, and puts them all first before anything and anybody else. Its treasonous how the last few terms of government have behaved.
