I reckon all of it weighs about 1/2 a ton so that's quite a markup

I think we're more like £750/ton at highland galvanizers maybe time I got a price check

Well I got a price back best place were premier galve 700 + vat for the galv and 130 + vat for transport they were not keen on my tank tho as there is no drain holes but I think I can machine up a couple of 3/8" bsp bungs sockets to stick in the ends and hopefully that will be ok I reckon they are charging about 1.60 a kilo main trailer frame weighs 340 kg for reference

you are going to need a much bigger hole to drain that tank out and vent it --- 1-1/4" (or more if you can) drain and at least 1/2" vent or it won't drain and it'll end up full of zinc - that you will be charged for - and render the tank pretty U/S

Last price I paid was from Manchester Galvanising and it was £450/ton for 4 tons of cattle gates we made for cow shed. That would be 8 months ago. Got some more stuff to go in the next month or so. I'll report back what price I pay per ton.

I darent get a up to date quote then was considering sending a couple of our old steel frame buildings off to be galv, think ill just get the spray gun out on them

Just turn up at Stoke with cash, it’s amazing how that seems to bring the price down considerably….

Do you have a price per ton or is it a lot price?

You guys have me thinking we're over paying for galvanizing

There's not a huge choice for galvanizing plants north of the wall but I'm beginning to think I need to shop around a little

So noew the galvanisers have said they think it needs blasting I thought surface rust came off in the pickle bath they want an extra 750 plus vat for it question is is it really necessary they do seem to make it up as they go along
