I am looking forward to the sun shining a little more. I can turn the oil burner off and just make do on the hot water from the solar panels!!
Exactly what we do with our Solar in the summer. There's even enough for the old hot tub

Hope you are right there Rory - we paid 19p/litre for kero in April 2020 ;)
And now using up the last of my 39p red before April fools Day :p
Bring it on.. can’t see it dropping much , but anything is welcome lately!

White was 159 this morning, was 150 in Tesco the other day, not sure what it is there as had to go to the other station to pick up a new labourer who decided they didn't want to bother showing up

Seemingly the gap between red and white had never been so close price wise (unless white is just not quite as quick at going up in price). Wonder if red is gonna be dearer full stop long term?

Could it be a supply issue? Or? As in suppliers run red down ready for April? Or do they die it ? Can't remember how it works?🤷

I reckon people are stocking up on red before it can’t be bought legitimately, and that is forcing prices even higher

Exact same fuel with suppliers round me exept the dye and plenty ag to supply after April so I'd see no reason for any real seismic changes for suppliers (obviously there will be a fair shift from red to white but nothing you think they'd struggle with). It just seems convenient timing with the switch to white on 1st of April, i mean it's hardly a big step up to white at the minute is it.

Possibly but as far as the fuel suppliers are concerned its all the same price it's only the govt that makes the price different. So are fuel suppliers taking the pi** while they can?

I quoted a job this morning and put a 2 week window of acceptance in the quote . I estimated the fuel at 100litres a day at 1.70 for 15 days . Not a very big job in the scheme of things . 13 tonner and 2 dumpers .
Fuel cost alone worked out at 2550.00
Then I found out that a local garage has price for diesel up at 171 per litre . I’m already going to loose money on the fuel and my price isn’t 24 hours old yet . I’m now left thinking that I’m better if they don’t accept my quote until outside the 2 weeks !
I can’t even order white diesel as I’m still trying to run down my red in the tank . I’m going to leave the fuel price out of future quotes and charge what I’m paying on the day off the job .

Cut it to 7 day acceptance

I know of an aggregate bagging business in quarry just bought 50k litres red before April to run their shovel and forklifts rest of the year. Ordered and paid before Ukraine crisis but doesn’t take many of those to drive demand up plus when it’s hard to get hold of ppl panic buy and fill all their tanks etc making it worse

When you hear the Uk/eu have spent 10billion euro with Russia on oil/gas since the start of the invasion it makes you wonder why there is any fuel issues at all?!
Also a lot of companies putting two fingers up to the red/white diesel swap over!!
