Does anyone know if HVO is going up at the same rate ? i assume it will even if its not costing any more to produce, just the effect of supply and demand ?

Total and utter greed.

They had a taste of what they could get away with last year with the panic buying so they know that we will just sit an accept it.
Must be the only product that any whiff of oil issues and minutes later pump price goes up...they must make a few bob on stock in hand..šŸ˜

Funny how when the barrel price goes down the pump price doesn't, general tends to be the same bs excuse of using the expensive barrells funny how the cheap ones never drop the price.

Got a lot of miles to do over the next few weeks are the fuel cards worth it?

I always use to run premium diesel so the cards were no use for that but have a Tesco petrol station with a mile or so of my house so going to run normal diesel so not sure of the cards will be really any better than supermarket

We are definitely having the piss taken out of us by the fuel retailers - it was around $120 a barrel in 2012 and fuel was under Ā£1.50 a litre then. Not sure why it’s so much more expensive now other than profiteering…
What was the VAT rate back then?
We have the cost of the fuel, the road fuel duty, then VAT on top. Of the road fuel duty, I think it is only about 10% of the duty that is spent on road maintenance. The rest is just gobbled up by the state machine!!

last time I looked it was only 12% of VED went to the roads too, so on the whole the exchequer bleeds the road users dry ('cept the bloody cyclists, who pay fook all and cause chaos) and gives virtually **** all in return .... roads round here are atrocious
