Anyone have an idea why it’s gone crazy!??

It hit me today when I realised after filling the tractor and 2 drums up that I’d put over £500 in there! 🥵
oh and £4K didn’t even put my bulk tank at 50% full!
I used to fill it up (4500L) for less than £1600!! Oh how the gov / world is screwing us!

The exchange rate in July 2008 was almost $2/£
That makes the oil at £71 a barrel.
Today we are at $1.34/£ so the oil price is almost unchanged.
Fuel duty in 2008 was slightly lower as was Vat.
These factors reduce the percentage higher figure down and remove the fact that oil is cheaper. There is always devil in the detail!!

I believe its a refining issue, not just supply of crude. Refinery's being hit in Russia, closed down here - none of its any good. And the inflation caused by a high diesel price is not something that can be controlled by interest rates.
Middle east sounds a right mess atm. Doesn't look like this is going to change anytime soon.
And our government still refuses to drill baby drill.
We are broke as a country and have no way of making money anymore to improve things.

Just trying to keep my head down about it all tbh, and try to look after no1.

The beauty of red is the fact I store it 😉
I have tanks for both but you still feel vulnerable!

I guess a buffer for any shortages is good- I might start filling up at petrol stations again. If it gets really bad then we are all in the same boat. Might be time for a years holiday!

I sit on it.. the Red rarely gets used although we have a run of stuff that falls into the agricultural bracket over the next two months and with the new machine coming the intention is the older of the two TB175's will go solely on agricultural work.

White I have around 500L which is enough for a panic. That'll get sat on tbh as I can see it coming where it's just not available.
