All diesel red/white to en590 has bio content and has been the standard fuel for a few years most places now. Cheaper forecourt fuels may have more bio in or poorer quality bio in who knows. En590 is just a minimum standard anyway so could cover a fairly wide additive range.
A lot of diesel bug problems are not strictly the fault of the fuel you've just put in but can be its reaction to the existing fuel already in the tank (or sh*t already in the tank). My bulk supplier advised running tanks down and cleaning them out when they moved to en590 spec red several years back to rule out potential issues with older fuel mixing. I've never had bulk fuel without extra additive in (still get it in white) and "touch wood" never had any fuel issues yet.

I had it in my machines . All tanks off and cleaned . I stopped shopping for cheapest price diesel and sourced a supplier for red with no bio . They now supply white without it.
Might be ok if your buying direct from garage forecourt though as I think the issue is if it’s stored too long ?

My supplier told me to stop using the additive .
I’m not up to speed with the make up of the diesel but I do know that for years and years before it was mixed with bio the only issue was if you didn’t keep it clean enough . Now there seems to be various issues .

We had seven or eight brickworks in the 70’s, nearly half of the workforce were Italians, some stayed on after the war, the others came over in the 40’s and 50’s. Down to one brickworks now.

Spec for EN 590 is max. 7 % bio.

Ordered 500 litres of white for home yesterday at 161.9 ppl. Still cheaper than the local station at 199.9ppl inc vat

hardly cause to get the party poppers and flags out and a grand tied up for a 25 quid saving :unsure::rolleyes:...
is it really worth it, other than for convenience, or the risk of some thieving bastardo liberating you of it:mad::mad:

Can't put a price on convenience if ur canning fuel for machines or making major detours to get to a forecourt.

Convenience makes it worthwhile. Saves a lot of receipts going through the accounts and at least I have some here if the poo hits the fan!!
