do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Can't put a price on convenience if ur canning fuel for machines or making major detours to get to a forecourt.
have to agree, the convenience of filling from a trigger on the end of a hose is great (y)

still only 3 quid on a 60ltr tank fill though Gaz ...
hardly cause to get the party poppers and flags out and a grand tied up for a 25 quid saving :rolleyes:...
is it really worth it, other than for convenience, or the risk of some thieving bastardo liberating you of it:mad::mad:

It’s still hard to believe that our government in all their wisdom didn’t stop to think what a temptation all of these tanks of white diesel around the whole of the uk on construction sites will be to the “thieving bastardos” surely there must of been a better way to execute this situation.

Don't complain - suggest what's better
Not wishing to be too negative, but keeping the nozzel out in the open on those tanks leads to diesel on everything round it and it attracts dirt to stick to it. Tanks with lids are a lot easier to keep clean, both the nozzle and everything round it.

They won’t care about that, they’re getting the duty from it whether it’s stolen or not 😡

Yea they have to get the furlough money back somehow 😳😡😡
The red diesel ban has been on the cards for a few years now, long before Covid (actually that delayed it by a year). There was never going to be a good time to do it, and as it transpires, this is a really bad time for many aforementioned reasons. But it wasn't exactly thrown on us suddenly and whilst I agree it has nothing to do with the environment, you have to hand it to them for coming up with a fairly easy way to effectively tax an industry that traditionally does very well profits wise.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have rebated fuel back, actually I'd really prefer it if the rebate was applied to HVO, GTL etc only to push us down that route, I think that would have been a good compromise.
Anyway, they wont gain much from VAT as most of us claim that back, and the fuel duty we now pay will be offset against our end of year profits - meaning we pay them less at that end. So I wonder just how much it will add to the treasury? Somebody smarter than me is going to have to work that one out!

Fuel duty is a winner rather than corporation tax. You pay fuel duty even if you don’t pay corporation tax and the rate of fuel duty is higher than the corporation tax offset.

And you can’t wangle out of paying it either! It’s here to stay, gov must be loving the extra income!

Still only a little drop in the ocean of throwing money at the population. £15billion spent on electric rebates and £5bil offset by retrospective taxation on Oil CO’s.
The black hole of our Conservative Gov is getting bigger!! Economy will be heading south!!

I've got myself one of these kits for 200 odd quid and I guess I'll just use an oil drum I got for free. The tight scotsman in me won't let me pay 500 quid for a plastic box :ROFLMAO:

He’s a question. Shell fuel card - am I better going to shell themselves or going to some random company who it looks like give me the same card? I’ve always stayed away from them because it’s just confusing..
