Rekon you'd do this in 2 to 3 mixesNeed to mix a floor screed and there is very little water content, only mixer suitable for the job and can only get a tiny 20l bucket version locally and need to mixer 1.5t
Pretty good rates on some of it. How much on average for local del?As it's been giving notifications may as well update, unless already did it in a previous post.
Company was spot on, ready2go hire been using them for the last two years whenever I need to hire anything in.
Most of the stuff is far better rates than I get on my own accounts and yet comes from the same placesafaik nationwide too
Only being hiring small bits of kit, power floats, floor grinders but has been 25-30 each wayPretty good rates on some of it. How much on average for local del?
Do you find the screed/mix sticks to the mixerwe bought a baron pan mixer last year for dry mix to lay porcelain after using screed bars. 20x quicker than wet laying.
When I was mixing that ardex a38 it just seemed to stay in the pan or block the shootnot with the pan mixer no. With the normal mixer it doesnt mix enough and you you get little balls form, no good.
It's also easier to load a pan mixer, sand and cement on the pickup means your only ever shovelling downhill. you can lay paving slabs as fast as the block paving boys and its bang on.
So many people are missing a trick and don't use a machine to lift slabs. It's way quicker overall with a good bloke on the machine, and the work it replaces is the most back breaking of the whole job so everyone is fresher for raking etc.when i say screed we using dry mix of sharp sand/cement not a special mix or anything. That way can use screed rails to smash out a large area fast.
For flooring screeds we get it batched from breedon, with fibres etc. Not a fan of liquid screeds.
grabo electric suction pads hanging of a chains (forks/digger whatever fits) to move the slabs as the large format ones are bloody heavy.
I’ve got this mixer , cracking bit of kitA local builder does a bit of traditional lime mortar for old buildings and we managed to borrow one of these for mixing refractory in.![]()
it always arrived covered in a layer of lime mortar but the stuff we were mixing always took it back to shiny metal inside![]()
