Making tax digital won't help in the slightest when the account is rented for cash to a dozen other drivers and the rigistered account holder lives in a rented bedsit and has nothing in his bank acount,.

" 864,000 self-employed taxpayers have days to comply with Making Tax Digital or start racking up penalty points "

" Miss a deadline and HMRC starts building a compliance record on you - by next year missed deadlines convert into automatic £200 fines. There's also a separate, escalating regime for anyone who is late paying their tax. "

Mine was done by the accountant, more expense I expect. Spoke to an electrician mate a couple of days ago and he hadn’t heard anything about it!!
Take cash only and refuse.
Sick of the monitoring and control by these *****.
Being vat registered doesn't bother me at present.

All the s**t that goes on and nobody gets prosecuted Post Office, Child Support Agency, Energy, Water the list goes on without even mentioning the boat brigade.

I have often thought about cashing every penny I get paid straight into pound notes and then only spend cash on every single thing - wages, fuel, machinery, tax!
There would be increasing levels of inconvenience but it is probably worth doing in reality, as the ‘freedom’ of cash is being eroded at an exponential rate.

used to do it for all 'cash sales' under £100 - no cheques and never set up for card payments - didn't wanna know .. steel, fuel, etc. ....
paid cash for all gas oil purchases ...
would've done the same for DERV, but suppliers wouldn't have it (but did buy 30,000ltrs at a time :giggle: )

banks charged so much for paying in cash, I just stopped
95% of account holding customers paid BACS and ditto those i held accounts with
rarely had a 'casual' walk in customer want more than 100 quidsworth
just had to be on the ball with the record keeping ;)

Yes, I spotted that. Other peoples misery should not make me smile but when it’s self inflicted I guessed it was ok to make an exception. 😀😀😀

On the flip side, I`ve been doing some of the bike and Brew passport event, some venues have been card only😲, I walked out, and missed out getting a stamp because, 1 I disagree with card only, and 2 I didn't have a card with me :ROFLMAO:

Drove past the Llanarmon show signs yesterday (old pallets painted white) massive handwritten letters "cash only" then parked in car park down on lyn...with fancy cameras and anpr setup...but again cash only . Cash is alive and well in sheep country .

Bit of a joke running full data and cameras to a carpark but then not accepting card...might explain the empty carpark 😎

Which car park? Llyn Tegid (Bala) just had cameras in the last couple of weeks, but phone payment only.
Llanamon Show is in a neighboring village, always make me chuckle when I past the signs, to be fair the phone signal is poor there, for card payments, the show in our village is the same, the day before I could show marshals for the tractor run google maps, street view etc, show day with loads of people there no chance.
