do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Some of us have ex wives / and or kids which can negatively affect the optimum crane / digger ratios. Luckily my kids dont know how many diggers I could have had instead of them :)
yes that it is a big factor - no wives or kids and the G/fs along the way grew to know me and the time I devoted to work and either accepted it - or didn't  - as said - everything else second  ;):)

Many people are influenced into thinking you can have it all.... but most cant. Its a big constant juggle between work and the rest of life usually.

Very interesting video somewhere about lifestyle creep....the more you earn the more you spend kinda thing. Those that control that... make the dough ☺️

Tricky thing finance etc and modern Britain has over egged it. But there's a huge benefit in cashflow management especially when it was nigh on zero interest. Why tie up 50k in cash when that allows you to spend in stock etc in the early days anyway. Like everything greed and lack of discipline has screwed a lot of outfits.

Well this is the thing alot of people can have it all, holidays on credit, car on the drip. They can afford the monthly payments but seem to struggle to save up any significant amount different ways to skin a cat guess and like I said each to their own- some are happy to use the finance as an overhead.

Because they are so maxed out on the monthly payments that they have maxed to the hilt , debt wise, they will never have any spare income -- slightest increase in interest rates and something has to go to maintain the rest of the payments .. as we have seen this year

It's more than that. It's deals like PCP where the rates are cheaper than actually buying anything. It leaves you worse off in the long run but by the time most people realise this they are to far in.
Plenty of other things on the market are the same. Not just in terms of finance packages but cheap poor quality items that have to be replaced more often.
I will admit I fall for it sometimes. And then think wtf did I buy that I should have just spent the extra for the better quality item. This is usually with clothes as I hate spending money on them. But the decent quality brands are out of control with inflation.

Fine line between paying for a name and paying for quality though. So much stuff is marketed on their name when in fact still made by the same sweatshops that make unbranded wear. sadly nothing is really made to last anymore.

Bought a couple of no name random military type od soft shells for me and missus off eBay or Amazon year or two back for knocking about in local walks etc . Been brilliant. £30 as opposed to goodness knows how much for top brand stuff . As much as I hate Chinese tat like u say made in same sweat shop lol.

Unfortunately alot of the decent work stuff have decided to go fashion instead.
Carhartt are the absolute worst for this.
I always look for value for money but it can be difficult sometimes to see the wood for the trees.
I have however at least got a hand forged belt buckle attached to a strap made from Victorian working horse tack. That should last me out.

I had a shooting jacket off one country clothing /tat stands at a country fair, and it put the likes of harkila to shame.
But it's rare tbh.
I would rather get everything from Engelbert Strauss and know the quality is there. Without the premium of snickers or similar.

Does me ES don't do 28 to 30 waist or 30 leg, Snickers are perfect but silly money

All our work wear is snickers and TBF it's good tackle. Trousers do have their failings at times tho.
Have to say on another note I've been impressed with a pair of ariat dealer boots . Damn comfy . Makes v12s feel like stonevage boots.

You see I have 36in inside leg so my choice of work trousers are ES, or American brands off Amazon.
UK spec hi Vis then I am left with ES only.
They also do really really long shirts. Their clothing is about the only thing I can wear without having a builders crack.

All my work trousers are snickers, and I’m pretty tall so the long leg option suits me. The newer stuff isn’t as well made as the older snickers (I bought a pair of old stock trousers recently) but considering they’re worn to death cost wise it probably balances out.

I used to use only snickers... but now I paying to dress another half a dozen lads they get cheaper stuff... as seeing Snickers kit come back covered in silicone finger wipes or paint pissed me off! Strauss stuff seems good currently... and you cant go wrong with good old Dickies for some stuff!

I generally wear the 3312 with “floorlayers” kneepads, but if you’re not doing much kneeling down those may be a bit bulky. Once you’ve figured what’s a comfortable size it’s easy to lol on eBay as sometimes you can get a cheap pair never worn etc.

I hate typical work trousers. Tried various and find there's too many seams to rub and a heavy unyieldy material, plus expensive
I now go for parachute trousers from Sainsbury's with and elasticated waist so it's easy to pee, they're made of a lightweight thing material which drys very quick and if I need extra warmth in winter I have a set of soft undertrousers underneath. Sainsbury's had them for £6 a while back I bought 6 pairs, wish I'd bought more because they've stopped doing them now!

easy to pee,
I don't like peeing in my trousers especially in summer you end up with flies around your crotch. Weirdly get funny looks from people too
