Just thinking for the future as current transit tipper is useless for carry weight and towing tbh and would like a bigger machine like the idea of a beavertail but then it cant tip hence the hookloader idea as best of both

Tipper with ramps then?

There's many combinations to think about. Only you can work out what suits best.

I can put the ramps on my grab lorry and load on diggers or dumpers then still use it for muckaway ect. The ability to self load/unload is why I didn't go the Roro route with a lorry.

Hook loader also good if you want to change bodies. Not just different sizes but flat plate for machines that won't fit inside. Hot box, insulated. Gritter. Even hiab/ grab bodies

Always wondered what a 7.5 hookloader could realisticaly carry or if towing a trailer is the way
7.5t hook I had was decent , payload was only 2.4t iirc, but it dealt with a 3.5t trailer much better than any landrover/navara/trooper id used before, had a nissan 3.5t tipper was ace - ran about with 5t in it for years and it was bombproof 😬 with 7.5t hook you could load the 3t dumper and then tow the 3t digger, ultimately needed to be able to look after myself so needed the bigger truck for a midi machine, carries 10t+ over here as its rated at 19t.
I dont always run all aggs in with it as its better to be on the machine and let the quarry deliver, but often do smaller jobs with it myself without the quarry, also means your not in the s**t if they can't deliver, and if nowhere to tip its easy to take it straight out of skip when its on the floor.
I seem to have been through most combinations !

This is also one of the issues with what i usually do unloading the tipper by hand is getting rather tiresome still young but already have back problems a bigger machine that can lift a tonne or a hiab would be a game changer

Yep, stiiiill looking ! I possibly have a deal on a local truck from a private seller I know well , very tidy Daf CF 260,5 years old ,very low miles but the sale is confidential and not yet confirmed so I keep looking at the previously mentioned CF models with AandM commercials as they look like a safe bet, only thing is looking at the plate on one,the front axle is rated 7500kg does this mean it’s probably a stretched tractor unit, and I guess I need 8000kg front axle .Bit of a minefield this truck game,I think I’m slowly picking it apart a bit.

I sure I looked at them on the daf online parts portal last time you said, and they where factory build rigids with a FA designation a tractor unit would be FT.
Most tractor units these days don't have a light axle these days so wouldn't worry about that, plus stretched units are rare these days as well.
I`ve had a 4 wheeler with a 14tm, front mounted crane in the past on a 7500kg axle, and was OK with weights.

If you want to send me the reg I`ll put it it and let you know the build spec.

What man as done, man can do, what never has, maybe
Just had a look and the portal has been updated and doesn't seem to have as much info as before, but some of what I can see is,
Week 17 2022
Its an FA build so factory built rigid
Auto gearbox
8000kg front axle
Draw bar spec
Air suspension front and back
Looks like a good spec. Will have a bigger engine if it’s draw bar spec too

Even the autos have a lot more gears in them not sure on daf but alot of hgvs are the same gearbox with an actuator on the clutch and gear selector
I`ve just edited the post, a typo, should of read 12 speed rather than 6 in the smaller box.
I far as I know most of the auto boxes are constant mech, rather than a synchro box as the manuals, the computer doesn't miss a gear, and speed and rev match better than a driver they say :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:....mean while back in the real world......
