At the same time as writing this thread i bought a Skoda Enyaq for oh to ferry kids about in etc..

It’s now gone in for its second battery stabilisation issue aka dead cells…. 19k miles
So...ive a mate with enyak...was off road for about 3 months with major drivetrain issues
And a supplier who has 3...all 3 have been back and forth to garage also.
Good luck.

At least if you Yank pickup blows up it's a simple job to install a bigger V8😎

Apparently it shouts Scotland forever as you throw it into the nearest glass window.. another vehicle I'd like to like but looks entirely like a souless brick and with a starting price for the 3.5t towing variant of £89,000

In fairness that includes Vat which I think is a rather clever attempt to make it look cheaper than it is. Just stumbled on it on the Tiktoks.

No range figure for the big one.... The small one does 170 miles.... Useful er.

Watched this from it's beginning...
Ugly as proverbial but why oh why keep banging on about decarbonisation and getting arsy about government net zero targets and lack of support for EVs etc...sell it on its merits alone.

" An electrical contractors’ trade association has warned that the UK power network may not be able to power artificial intelligence before long .... the new technology’s appetite for electricity, which is often greater than many small countries use in a year ":oops:
" ... he questioned whether the UK’s current electrical infrastructure was fit for purpose in the face of the massive increase in predicted demand, not only from the power-hungry data centres supporting AI but also from the continued rise in electric vehicle (EV) charging units. " if you're lucky enough to find one working
" it is estimated that there could be 1.5 million AI servers by 2027. Running at full capacity, these would consume between 85 and 134 terawatt hours per year – roughly equivalent to the current total energy demands of Netherlands or Sweden "

Sod AI .. what about all the electric vehicles ... that they can't sell :ROFLMAO: or charge half the time

this says it all :rolleyes::rolleyes:
" He added: “I remember attending an EV training session about 25 years ago and the standing joke was, ‘Where’s all this electricity going to come from?’ We all felt the network needed upgrading then, and now there is extra pressure from the new AI data centres springing up.” "

Didn't get the planning for the data centre he reckoned if they had it would have gone for a £billion!

The whole AI using electric thing is a f****ng Oxymoron..... Proponents will tell us its going to provide us answers to save the future but in reality like Crypto Keys it's a tremendous waste of energy.
We should be striving to reduce demand and focus use of energy on important things........ Speaking of which there is a group of f****ng morris dancers at the pub I frequent, I've half a mind to get the Dolmar 166 out to f****ng deal with them..... God forbid if I get asked what I think, I don't think "I'd rather empty the dogshit bins at the park with my tongue" will go down well.

Update, I have been snuck around the pub as one of the tinkling twats is roaming around with a begging bucket and i have prewarned the bar that if they ask me i will explain id rather s**t in my hands and clap than contribute to the survival of there irritating craft.

hang on though Elon is making a robot for repetitve manula tasks.

If he can get it working in site conditions then romania, poland, latvia will all be out of work.

I hardly see it being theft and exporting stolen goods so they are safe bar Poland.
