They don't work half the time anyway...or you get a new provider who won't use the meter....waste of time.

They claiming the safety certificate is out of date, so how do you stand with your property insurance if they think they have a way out of paying up in the event of fire or such

refuse a smart meter and simply insist on a like for like replacement .... they can not compel you to have a smart

Id not get too wound up about a smart meter had them for years ....any hint of "control" it would ceases to become "smart" vfq 😉😉😆

Varies with provider but some actually quite good and allows you to keep a handle on their billing real time rather than pie in the sky guesstimated billing.

just as easy to read your meter .... SWALEC (now OVO) get a reading from me on the 4th of the month, every month ... POP to log into your account and submit it .... have zero excuse to estimate my bill.

get them to confirm they own the meter Mike, then demand they supply a like for like, fit for purpose, or they will be held responsible for any issues, post expiration date for the safety cert. ..
AND why have they allowed their equipment to remain in service beyond it's serviceable life span ???
they should have addressed this matter looong before expiration (usually 10 years on a 3ph meter) ...
also is it a safety cert. or calibration cert. ...
if the latter you want a check meter installed for min. 4 months operating in parallel with the existing one, to ensure you have not been overcharged for any substantial period (how have your bills been - as expected??)
as said earlier, I had issues with bills years ago and the check meter proved an excess of 10-12% read on the existing meter

they must've forgotten you Bob ... didn't think there were any of them left (incidentally - manufactured by a company called Hookham & ???) :giggle:

Someone elses. Preferably held by them too.

I think I annoyed an auditor from the British standards institute as he asked me where my fire extinguisher was in my truck. I said I didn't have one and I pointed out fire extinguishers are not to fight fires they are to aid escape and if I'm in the position to walk round the back of the truck and get a fire extinguisher then I am already escaped and shall walk away instead.

too true. Been to some inductions when they explain and quiz you over extinguishers and their colour, and some other ones that say if you see a fire do not tackle it,you are not a fireman...

Man, that’s nice. So much better looking than the iD3 on which it's based.
Health to drive, keep it between the hedges (y)

Im not in the long range volvo or tesla bracket..They only for senior managers who dont leave the office...
