I can't see it happening in rural settings. Especially people in physical jobs. Who wants to ride an hour to work at 6am in the winter with ice on the ground. It's fine for urban comutes but better answers are needed for the countryside. If there is any left for the next generation

I don't think people will have much choice the way things are going. It would be a way of saying money, keeping fit and keeping warm. If I had good tracks around me I'd gladly ride if I could - obviously for most of us we are transporting machinery and heavy loads so it's a moot point other than we wouldn't have the problem of cyclists on the roads and traffic would be reduced. All these new builds popping up and the population exploding I think cycling ticks a lot of boxes and investment in cycle ways would be a good policy. Plus Greta will be pleased.

I think by the time it gets to that point our society will have completely collapsed. Let's face it noone wants to do any work to begin with. If you put an hour cycle ride each end of that then the dole will become even more appealing.
As said the only real answer is better public transport. And it's needed desperately. I would quite happily get public transport everywhere but it's a non starter for most.

The solution as said repeatedly is depopulation...... Too many people, wanting too much and living for far too long. Anything you do to maintain the "standards of living" is pissing in the wind...... You can't live life consuming the energy we do and expect to be carbon neutral..... this is fantasy land and the ones for it most are the ones that do the least for others.

The Vette is good, it sounds unreal but is a bit much i.e a handful .
I am tempted to drop it potentially and get something classic or special i dont know. We will see

Had a test drive in this today..... expressed i have to say
160 - 190 mile range apparently, sales guy recons that's real world not book.
They have offered it to me for a days trail so we will see.

If you have never driven an electric vehicle you may be pleasantly surprised how nice they are to drive. I prefer to drive my e-nv200 to driving my ranger Wildtrack.
