.....just need to weld the pins in place in the morning and finish off the shiny tish ... 'fore moving on to summat that's been awaiting my attention for a while .... 'sposed to be another sunny day again tomorrow ..... and the rest of the week

well sunny it weren't .. dry yes .. 10C and the N Easterly is still with us making it feel more like 5C all the blocks in the pile outside the woodshed are dry as, well seasoned and ain't seen any wet sh1t for soooome time, so thought i'd re-stuff the wood shed, as it looked like we are going to get some rain ... got bored with this game after two an' a half hours and when Pam asked me to titivate the bird bath, it was a welcome distraction ... could've gotten it all in there and might finish it off when enthused ... 'sposed to be dry for a few more days yet

Grabbed Mr Aldi's little 40v grinder and cleaned the inside out of the old lacqer and rust deposits ... wasn't allowed to leave it shining - needed some patina - apparently then gave it a few more coats of fresh lacquer ... ... for those who've missed this before .. it's the bowl off a commercial mixer I removed from a small bakery in Aber. maybe pushing 40 years ago and kept it, as it was such a lovely casting - Pam loves it


after some scoff, 'bout 3, I went and stuck the rollers' pins in position with Mr Esab and second coated the job


all set up for bowling a dose of 25 footers through the band saw, shortly, for the BIL's work bench and gates requirement .... just got to clear the bench off first ... after I've mod.ed what's on there first ..... forecast is looking real good for tomorrow

'nother cold day yesterday 10C - felt like 5C in the N. Easterly - Had Clara's little sister best part of the day so didn't get a lot done. relocated the rest of the contents of these ....

two winter's worth plus, in there ... ought to get a cover over what's left in the crates as it's all dry as a chip.

been trying to get summat done to this for ever ... so after clearing up after Pam's strimming this morning, with the blower, had an afternoon with this

was hoping for some more time with it tomorrow, but just been informed we have both Clara and Harper for most of the day
anyway ... picked this from where it's been sat for months .. dropped the feet I made for it weeks ago, onto it

and sat it in place for a suss ...

's all one chassis now .... gotta suss some oil cooler mountings and have all ports sorted and close-able to keep the liquid gold in place with a hose off ...

that 2" took some juggling into spot ... the 3/4" was much easier and the 1 1/4" return, t'other side too

all tucked up for the night, keep the dew off it .... ain't sposed to rain tonight

was hoping to mount the cooler tomorrow, sort a home for the air filter and build it a fuel tank, but doesn't look like that's gonna happen now

Ah it's Top Secret.
Whatever it will be it looks like it's got plenty of poke, I'm pretty sure that's a turbo I can see there.
I feel it could split a whole tree in half, not just a log
If it's a grass vac it won't need a hose, just set it to pull, fire it up and it'll drag all the grass from 100 metres away

same Deutz motor as runs the 'Drema .... all tucked up ready for tonight's rain

got the lawn and all the other grass mowed this morning 'fore to two girls arrived ...

and the worst of it raked - again .... dropped a notch on the little bank and gave it a proper 'nap' cut

Clara wanted to go see the horses after lunch, so walked up and found two new friends up there, with their mum, for her to play with ... instant gel and kept her busy all afternoon ... and I had an easy afternoon sat around keeping an eye on 'em ...
had a great time brushing Cushty the two year old Shetland .....

What they like them Great Danes? Take a bit to get used to? Looks an odd driving position . One on eBay atm.

brilliant bit of kit ..... is it a ride on, or stand on ... can step on/off and use it as a pedestrian if you need to and just step off if heading for the tish ... mows like hell and will creep/crawl along, right up to 14kmph, if you have the area to use that sort of speed ...
built from proper sections .. no tin work ... and Kwaka motor ... took me a while to find one

that one's quite tidy ... been titivated ...and is the smaller motor at 17hp .. IIRC mine's 21hp ... that's about what they seem to have made the last few years, so with everything on the up I don't think that is dear TBH
for big or banky areas they're excellent

If I was still on the hunt for one I would be watching that like a hawk and ready with a good bid over the start figure for the first/last 5 second bid ... they do not come up often and that is all together .... last time I looked they were circa £12+k new IIRC

forgot to say .... operating takes a little getting used to .. especially if you'm a bike rider ... the more you squeeze the faster you go .. counter intuitive, when tou're heading for trouble ..... automatic reaction is to squeeze (the brakes) - there aren't any .. let go and the hydro stops it dead .. squeeze and you'm off like a scalded cat
just takes a while to overcome the instinct

not for a considerable time ..... now that I'm used to it and operating it is instinctive .... first few weeks were exciting occasionally

The kwaka range of engines (15~25hp) is 'almost' the same engine. (ok, the 25hp has an oil cooler).
I've got a zero turn mower with the kwaka FH601 engine. The only difference across the range is the throttle butterfly.
Same bore, same stroke, same carb - but the throttle butterfly has a different stop on it depending how many ponies you paid for.

Mate of mine did that with a boat motor but filed just a little too much off the throttle stop so it used to run a bit too hot
