Can't imagine where she may have inherited that trait from...perhaps!!!!!.... she has the art of 'monging' off to a tee at times

IF you decide to replace the P38 don't get another Land Rover brand. Over the years I've had Disco 1, Disco 2 TD5, Disco 3 base manual and Disco 3 HSE. At the time loved everyone of them, but you need to know yer way round a box of spanners and have good finances.... WTF do I replace it with ... has more than enough lecktrickery on board for my liking ... newer stuff is so much worse.
Disco needs the attention it deserves, when the weather improves.
I presume the second attempt was concreted in???![]()

gonna put a deck together for our 6m x 3 m job and screw it to that ... and make it reasonably 'mobile' -- with suitable handling equipment and lift eyes strategically positioned
do not want a repeat of last night's take off ...... we were lucky to get away with such limited damage
I was hanging on your every word until you recommended a 4 door pick up!!IF you decide to replace the P38 don't get another Land Rover brand. Disco 1 with 300TDi was fantastic but rust started to take hold. Underpowered for towing 3.5T
Disco 2 with TD5. Great with more power. Auto box best for towing but overheated when working hard
Disco 3 TDV6 manual box and remap. Front lower and rear upper wishbone bushes wear out quickly.
You need a sense of humour if you need to change the gearbox with the body on.
For most serious stuff you take the body off.
But with complex CANBUS system you need serious diagnostics with a LR Licence to sort out and reset the DTCs.
Disco 3 HSE - the best of the bunch. Got this fairly new with some LR Warranty.
Fantastic drive and comfort. Loads of power with a remap
But LR wiggled out of the wishbone claim saying it was wear and tear
As above for the manual job with some serious DTC faults cropping up. Bong - limp mode and suspension lowers.
Not good if you are miles from base towing 3.5T
Loads of stupid faults, like front to rear brake hoses rusting out after 5 years. Turbo actuator going faulty with more DTCs
Worst of all the engine has a history of self destruct when the cam belt lets go. Usually just after being replaced - AVOID
BUT, 2 years ago I went to the dark side and bought a Nissan Navara Tekna 4 door pickup truck with Truckman hard top etc
Best thing I did for my business and pleasure use
So I recommend that when you replace the P38 you get a 4 door pickup truck
There are some great deals to be had on good used models and discussion can be had on all the different models![]()
P38's as far up the LR food chain as I want to progress TBH .... they were all nightmares on the electrics front after, apart from their mechanical heartachesIF you decide to replace the P38 don't get another Land Rover brand. ???? .... surely if your vehicle passes its MOT emissions, there ain't a lot they can do to prevent your legitimate use of the vehicle on the Queen's highway, for which we all pay far too muchI'm at a bit of a crossroads myself. Do I keep pouring money into my D3 or cut my losses?
With the clean air stuff in Bristol, it won't be long before I'll be unable to drive it in. If that means I can't get it into the office, that would be a bugger.
Don't say that, I just bought myself a clean 09 D3 Commercial at Christmas.I'm at a bit of a crossroads myself. Do I keep pouring money into my D3 or cut my losses?

Haha, welcome to 2000, look at congestion charge etc, to right they charge let alone prevent???? .... surely if your vehicle passes its MOT emissions, there ain't a lot they can do to prevent your legitimate use of the vehicle on the Queen's highway, for which we all pay far too much
and yeh, as said WTF do you buy????...... bollaux to leccy

tha's clean Boyo
but ........ WTF do you buy ??I've been loyal to land rover's all my life, disco's, range rovers, defenders, 101's, I've had them all and still have some but when my current wolf 90 needs a rebuild or major attention I think that will be my lot with them. They have all been good fun in their own ways but just no, not any more. The old ones have always leaked, broken and rusted and the modern new ones have always had a computer bleeping various faults at me and cost me a fortune. Enough is enough and I've got the pen out ready to sign the divorce papers.
long time ago Swansea had huge grants to turn their town into zero emissions ..... multi millions and to have been in place by 2015 ..... LPG or leccy only inside the town limits ..... NEVER happened ... but they spent the bucks alrightHaha, welcome to 2000, look at congestion charge etc, to right they charge let alone preventutter bollocks the way this whole clean air thing has gone. Ain't gonna be any option to leccy before to long, wtf you use to drag an Ifor with?
The more I look into the future with my crystal ball the less I like the look of it![]()
nah ....... not a series Fred ..... 90 at least ....... having run a series three for many years as a workhorse and run around ....... don't do itive got a strong urge to buy a restored series 2/3 V8 for the summer....
Show them that you take the environment seriouslywtf you use to drag an Ifor with?![]()

Sorry to say this - get rid of the Disco3I'm at a bit of a crossroads myself. Do I keep pouring money into my D3 or cut my losses?
