Either that or make an a frame to go between the two rather than butch new splitter. Can make it easier to drop on and off as well that wayLooks like the top link mount wants moving down a long way it looks very high atm

Gotta supplement that pension somehow!got a phone call Sunday evening from Russ (me mate with the crane) " I know you've been shielding and keeping a low profile Gra, but me usual rigger's down sick .. any chances of a quicky in the a.m. ... be done by 11 " ...... so guess what I was up to yesterday ...
I don’t think they are meant to be totally parallel movement. Kicking in at the top, on most implements is a bonus, as it get it in the air further. Obviously not ideal with your splitter and the window though!spot on Thomas ... it pulls the top of the splitter into the window ..... no parallel movement of the three linkages .... now't much to sort

I had to put it in the lower one to get the link short enough to pick it up from where the carrier''s driver had had to leave it Smiffy .... wound right in I couldn't get it on in the top holeI can't see exactly and you may have already tried it but it looks like it's on the middle hole tractor end
Moving to top hole may go a fair way to sorting it
got it in one James .... hyd top link'd sort it, but I really like Gaz's suggestion to put all the lift points in the right place .... job for FridayI don’t think they are meant to be totally parallel movement. it doesn’t help that he’s got the top pin forward of the lower pins, I think this is making matters worse.
have you got a spare spool that you could operate a hydraulic top link? Sure you could cobble on together?
Yeah but every tractor is slightly different. Not only that i bet most farmers buying splitters probably stick them behind a 150hp John deere so it's probably not been built to suit a toy tractor (which is admittedly all that's required to power it).Looking at the frame, its looks pretty much the same as mine. Top fixing top link bracket is forward of lower pins. Surely you buy a new machine to fit a tractor and it should fit near enough without a lot of messing. Are the arms right down graham.
spot on Dyl .... As said above .... Gaz's idea of a suitably tailored A frame'll cure all issues and get it a bit further away from the back of the Zetor tooLooking at the frame, its looks pretty much the same as mine. You could use a hook for top pin and then put pins in bottom if you make it right so you can pick it up and only get out once to pin it on.great idea ... sorted

what pension??Gotta supplement that pension somehow!

I did wonder TBH ...... I like the chain idea .... this is never gonna be trundling around a lot on rough ground ..... got a little pull lift that'd do to suss a length firstProbably find that it's designed for modern 100+hp tractors
And another trick is to use a piece of chain instead of a top link adjust it so it is tilting away from the tractor in the fully raised position and when lowered it will simply find it's own level
I know what you mean. I did manage to turn a lot of holiday into credit with my old employer, which I aim to turn into some A/C next year!what pension??..... and yeh the odd contribution to the pot is always handy
.... would've done more if it hadn't been for the 'year' ..... Russ was stuck yesterday
.... and at some point I will need me boxes shifting
(and he really wanted someone who knew what they were doing, slinging some very expensive machines out of trucks)
think I'd leave it fitted to the splitter Gaz so it'd have all pick ups where they should be - virtually in the same vertical plane ... not worried about the weight going back a couple of inches Gaz ... 's not that much of a lumpCan buy hook type lower link arms with catches to go on the bottom
If made as an a frame with no lpower brace bar it wouldn't have to be removed to tow the trailer and can drop trailer off pick up implements in one go
But it is only a small tractor and any a frame would move a large chuck of weight backwards
I've no idea at what point my state pension's 'sposed to kick in anymore Alex .. but a while yet. I've not opted to delve into my private pot ... was too young when I had to give up and since then it's become possible to cash the bugger in, which is what i'll be doing shortly ... the return monthly is dire, compared to all their forecasts ... until they got asset stripped in a sell out (take over is too kind a phrase) ... I'd not live long enough to recover my contributions drawing it .... so i'm gonna have it back ... can do more with it than they would. .... need to do it soon, 'fore the ba***rds move the goal posts again ... waited a long time to be able to do it, after Pheonix Life asset stripped 'The Pearl' .. best performing pension provider in the country for ten years on the trot -- then !!!I know what you mean. Aye. I pay into a private pension through work currently. But I've got another 30 years before I need to worry about it!I've no idea at what point my state pension's 'sposed to kick in anymore Alex .. but a while yet. 63 Alex ..... been paying into my private pot nigh on 40 years and still doAye. I pay into a private pension through work currently. But I've got another 30 years before I need to worry about it!
How old are you now then?
So you have another 3 years before you hit state pension age. The private one will depend on the scheme. I think I have to make it to 68 now. Doubt I'll manage that so not too worried (lots of stroke history in my family). Paying into these things is just hedging my bets that I'm wrong though!63 Alex ..... been paying into my private pot nigh on 40 years and still do
