Evening, similar up here last few days has seen rain of biblical proportions, neighbour has farmed in our lane for 60 years...never seen owt like it.

UPS ..Ive had couple of these over the years...do the job yes don't last fir ever but for the money ..

APC are widely regarded as the industry standard but I've replaced plenty of them as well so..🤷
Yep, I run the same UPS on our CCTV system. Works a treat so i'd recommend it for sure.

knock at the door mid afternoon ... rained off and having a coffee ... Fedex 'man' "is this the annexe" "no mate down the other drive ... attached to the white farm house"
"Odd" says I to Serge, who'd called in for a cuppa ... "the inlaws, who were in there, been dead 12 months " ???
Ten minutes later Mr Fedex is back ..... this time he has this in his arms ....
WP_20200828_18_21_04_Pro.jpg

" Apparently this is for you " "Certainly is mate, but why did you ask for the annexe " ????:unsure:

quite HTF Germany could transform this into the above is beyond belief .....

and this is what you call a proper packaging job ...... top marks to the stores in Weimar
WP_20200828_21_51_57_Pro.jpg

UPS also turned up this morning ..... must be 30 kgs ... had a shock when I went to pick it up off the floor outside the door 😂 ... wasn't quite expecting such a lump ...odd few scratches to the case, when I opened it up and the packaging job left a lot to be desired 🤬 .... surprised the front panel hadn't sustained any damage ... being as it was so bloody heavy, but looks OK (y).... if it pees down tomorrow again I'll see about getting it hooked up .... pull old faithful out and give him a good blast out while he's out from under the desk, then get it all back in place, with its new best friend :giggle::giggle:
now to go find a MUCH longer DSL cable, so's I can re-position the router closer to the UPS ............ oh and the BB is waaaaaaaaaay better than it's ever been ... good on young Lewis; he's done a brahming job on sussing the faults ... fingers crossed

if I'm paying 45+ quid for carriage ..... it makes sense to have it sat ... even if it is over 200 squids  ..... 'spensive toys have equally dear running costs I suppose  ...I've not done badly in over 6 years of ownership ........ and it still makes me smile the way it does things ..... it is a superbly engineered tool and saves me no end of time and effort
Was expecting ear ache when I had to admit the cost of the box's contents to 'er indoors and much to my surprise, she as good as said the same ..." it's done well since you've had it " ...... "does this mean it won't leak oil anymore? "
so I'd better get on and fit some seals  or there will be ear ache forthcoming

Have spent a fair bit of time on the cropper the last few days, between (and during at times) the downpours ..... that too has performed very well

@V8Druid , your parcel from Hydrema has travelled a slightly different route then your map indicates. Looking at the label on your parcel it has done the following:
Weimar - Erfurt/Weimar airport (ERF),I assume by van.
Erfurt airport - Liège airport (LGG), most likely by lorry.
Liège airport - East Midlands airport (EMA),by airplane
and from there on by surface transport.

WP_20200831_18_47_05_Pro.jpg

Massacred the lawn Sunday afternoon after i'd thought it'd dried enough ... was still heavy going and a three circuit cut ... blades full up, then half way, then a usual low level cut ... two collector fulls and quite some time to do .... then Dane'd the grass beside the drive Monday ...

WP_20200831_15_00_29_Pro.jpg

and that was some of the shorter stuff ... not been cut in weeks, due to the poxy weather and was still VERY slick .... it's still lying where it fell ... decent day yesterday but a busy one ... Clara from 7.45 to 4.45 .. Vicki back in school, plus everything else to keep on top of .... took the cropper back just after nine and they were well chuffed with the repairs ... got a very decent discount :giggle:(y);) and Reo had a good day, with some good dry weather .....
WP_20200901_19_30_33_Pro.jpg

morning started well today, 'til about 11.30 ..... when the "light showers", fell out the sky and that was the end of play for today .... have had 12mm of rain, up 'til 4.30, when it stopped ... anything that'll hold water, including the coffee cups abandoned on the wall top had a good 12mm in 'em
Keeping Clara amused for the day's been a challenge
Reo's getting there ..... quietly

I like to if possible  .... they're always pleased to see you again then ;)(y) ..... even if it's only getting it cleaner than when you had it ... people remember that sort of thing :giggle: ....... plus i always get on well with the lads from the local garage / hire place ... It's rare i hire and even rarer that I'll borrow anything ..... but when i do .... ;):giggle:(y) ....... 's worth the couple of hours I spent on that, to me ;):sneaky:

so ......... an on/off week weather-wise .... Reo's progress's been slowed with a lot of heavy showers and even rained off a couple of times this week ...
WP_20200905_10_21_53_Pro.jpg

but he's quietly creeping up the drive ...
WP_20200905_10_22_08_Pro.jpg

forecast is good for the coming week so hopefully he'll have more luck ... it looks great
I've managed a bit of pottering time ...
got meself some pin keeps made up yesterday afternoon
WP_20200904_16_16_38_Pro.jpg

WP_20200904_16_39_08_Pro.jpg

WP_20200904_17_56_13_Pro.jpg

got four pins to knock out ..... picked up that bar of 70 mil this morning and dropped it into the band saw this morning ......
WP_20200905_13_03_30_Pro.jpg

after dropping the 7 footer on the bench .... for some further attention .. you'll recall the issue I had with a certain pin  .. well I had an idea last night on how to deal with what i thought was the issue .....
WP_20200905_13_57_05_Pro.jpg

cut the keep off t'other end and go at it from there
WP_20200905_13_58_56_Pro.jpg

then Clara arrived ..
so several hours later .......
WP_20200905_14_21_27_Pro.jpg

I had the b'stard :giggle:(y)
WP_20200905_14_23_49_Pro.jpg

ten minutes with the die grinder ....
WP_20200905_16_23_15_Pro.jpg

and stone, followed by a flapper ... and
WP_20200905_17_30_50_Pro.jpg

.... yon bosses looked a lot better ..... that little die grinder is one of those Katsu jobs ... a well spent 20 summat quid .. lots more grunt than the air versions and so quick
as suspected ... bloody pin was belled .......
WP_20200905_16_35_19_Pro.jpg

........enough to be visible and feel-able
WP_20200905_16_31_46_Pro.jpg

no wonder the 10t press couldn't shift it ..... 0.8 mil too bloody big to go through a 70 mm boss
was determined not to be beaten by a ****ing pin ;):giggle::sneaky:

need four at 370 mm, so'll lop the belled/nadgered end(s) off this un, cut a new 425 mil pin to replace this and three more at 370 milli.s for that nice Miller scoop I modified a while back and me fave Geith three footer, which is currently fitted with a longer 410 mm set from me B20 adapter ...... and everything'll have their own pins, without any peeing about, swapping 'em about (y)
so .... job for the morning, after I've gotten Reo set up for the day and filled up with his morning cups of coffee :coffee::coffee::coffee: ... he's worse than me :giggle: ..... don't bother me 'til I've had at least two cups  ...... especially at half seven of a Sunday morning :LOL:

So I've had a busy weekend too!
Yesterday saw me ripping the week old Kia apart - bloody instructions from Kia were dodgy, the cabling I was looking for was shown on the drivers side (LHD) A-Pillar, so looked there first and no sign of the ones I wanted! Looked on the actual Drivers side (RHD) A-Pillar and there they are. Also found airbags, which I wasn't expecting - thought they were supposed to put airbag SRS markings near them?
2020-09-05 16.55.19.jpg
Anyway, with the car ripped apart I was able to measure up for the LED footwell kit I'm planning on making, looks very easy to install and I'm just waiting on some drillbits and some connectors now.
Took a LED out on a battery last night, without any angling they look OK I think;
2020-09-05 21.16.05.jpg
2020-09-05 21.13.57.jpg

Then today I got my new toy out;
2020-09-06 12.44.59.jpg
Ripped the Disco apart
2020-09-06 15.11.59.png

and stuck it in;
118960641_10164164077850054_8768828023390052867_o.jpg

And then promptly removed it - it was rubbish! Back on eBlag it goes!

And all week we've been full tilt still at making masks;
2020-08-29 08.31.55.png

Helen's done a sterling job at this, and is having her first proper day off without doing the tree today for 45 days!
