was my thoughts too :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: ...
if I let an injury bleed, it'll bleed like hell (part of me gaucher's apparently) .....
if I can stop it with pressure immediately it's usually fine .... this got a LOT of pressure ..... IMMEDIATELY!!
didn't fancy the prospect of a trip to A&E ... not quite knowing the extent, 'til I'd washed it off and had a better gander !!

Pam said I should've left it stuck in there so she could've pulled it out :oops: ... make a change from her sticking sharp objects in me arm I suppose

Managed to rip the top half of my ear off when I was younger - not fully off but hanging off. Nurse superglued it back on as couldn’t stitch it... apparently superglue was designed originally as a battlefield dressing 🥴 👂

(y)... routine these days to glue wounds ... cyanoacrylate adhesive is perfect for it as it likes moist surfaces to function best

'the boss' likes the 'industrial look', rather than a coat of summat .... so they got a coat of

WP_20200513_17_22_54_Pro.jpg

lacquer 😁
some of her original ones .. AP tops are a much nicer shape ... and none of 'em'll blow over in a wind 😆
WP_20200513_16_38_05_Pro.jpg

not quite so the bottoms .. prefer 'the other's bottoms
WP_20200513_16_38_45_Pro.jpg

used to get AP bottles dumped outside my yard gates ..... AP would never collect them, so they got the treatment in the band saw, as scrappy wouldn't/couldn't take them. AP's loss was Pam's gain ..... Guaranteed frost proof :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Pam's been busy indoors ... been proper cold again today ... paperwork this morning and these this afternoon :giggle::giggle:👍
WP_20200513_16_54_46_Pro.jpg

one for Vicki, two for our freezer and one for tonight ... good it was too .. GF Rhubarb crumble ... awesooooooome :giggle:

Sparty has also discovered that due to us being banged up :( -- -er I mean on lock down/shielding  .. the planters are still devoid of greenery/coloured bits  ... you know plant things ... and no - - not 'our type' of plant

different day ... different project ... after another coat of lacquer
WP_20200514_13_44_40_Pro.jpg

looking tidy :giggle: ;)

then we had a bit of a strip down to contend with, after finding it in need of a lot of TLC .... some'll have seen this bit of kit before .. them that ain't .. be interested to hear people's guesses at what it is .. :giggle:;)

this key took a bit of extracting ...
WP_20200514_15_23_46_Pro.jpg

can't beat a good old wedge for shifting tight stuff :giggle:
WP_20200514_15_25_39_Pro.jpg

took a bit of stripping, as some of this had 'seized' fairly solidly
WP_20200514_16_14_41_Pro.jpg

WP_20200514_16_15_52_Pro.jpg

but come apart it did .. eventually .. had to resort to some BIG spangaleros, for the odd bits ..... don't often get the 3ft monkey out
stripped and cleaned, it went back together a lot easier ..... not been this good in a loooooong time

getting there ......

and

back together ...

interesting repair at some point in its life ... probably been dropped or taken a knock
WP_20200514_19_25_01_Pro.jpg

no idea of a maker ... other than this one 'badge' ..... but could just be a foundry marker ..
WP_20200514_19_27_01_Pro.jpg

so fellas ...... what do you think it is ...... and as said them tha's seen it afore ...... stum !! ;):giggle:

oh and the reason it got some TLC today :censored: ..... I was going to use it 'til i found it wasn't 'too well' :(

Always the way. I went up to mums to sort my strimmer head out, spent an hour fixing her gate (need to make a new one :( it's toast!) And still didn't get the strimmer head off. Resigned to just buy another head & pole assy for the brush cutter attachment.

once I've done what I wanted the 'device' for, today ... I think I'll strip it completely ... full clean off and give it some shiny tish ... it's a LOT older than me and deserves to be 'preserved' .... not a lot left that hasn't been stripped today and'll come completely to bits with relative ease now. Nice ring roller Gra, not seen that before. Got some age to it I’d imagine and some gravity to it too!

ive always got my eyes open for things like that to add to the workshop, but never come across one like that.

yes James, it's beautifully made, in the days when casting was a real art form. Shame it's been repaired, but even that is work of art :giggle::cool: ... and yeh ... it's a hell of a weight, for such a small lump
