air bridge .... I'd rather be in that than a cherry picker ... designed to lift a lot more than a man basket/air bridge .. always intended to make one for the cat heads on me cranes, as we used to get asked for cradles pretty frequently .... and two men in an air bridge ain't gonna turn a crane over
those Merlos are quite a tidy tool and would have all the SLI requirements of a crane

WP_20200504_13_35_16_Pro.jpg

plumbed and plugged ...
WP_20200504_13_38_18_Pro.jpg

and worked straight off ... not had it on in quite a while and can sometimes give the odd electrical glitch if there's any water gotten into any of the DIN plugs on the solenoids ... but fine :giggle:
picked it up to tidy the plumbing .....

Yup! 👍 Hardly David Attenborough but gives the idea! You could do a voice over next time..."Here we have grab about to devour it's next victim...."😁
Sorry kids love him...🤦
there's enough going on in the cab ... and me head, trying to hold the phone for the vid and run the VA-r ... rotate and aux are on the same stick..LH .... and rotating and operating the grab simultaneously requires fingers like a Madagasacan aye aye :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

one of these days I'll get Pam to hold the phone and do a proper demo vid of the beast :giggle:

Get yourself a little GoPro and a suction mount. I use a couple of little action cameras for that sort of thing.

VA-r's been getting some TLC in the form of a clean and a fresh coat o' shiny tish ... was looking a tad neglected/tatty
WP_20200506_13_33_26_Pro.jpg

wanted the bench today so transferred it to the trailer, out the way .. and in the sun 'til quite late in the evenings

WP_20200506_16_38_54_Pro.jpg

used to make these to accept an 8' x 4' (1220 x 2440 mm ) board, with a 1/4" clearance all round ...
made carrying 8 x 4s a doddle (y) ... (Ifors are built on an 8 x 4 and won't take a full board) :(

WP_20200506_17_35_33_Pro.jpg

there's a few hundred of these floating around this area :giggle::giggle:
corner sockets for greedy boards/head tree/canopy frame and tailboard'll take an extension in its sockets
were a very popular line ;):)

little and large(r):D ... (note the 8 x 4 floor board in the back ground waiting to return 'home' )

always been certain reg.s and rules for them, but as Alex says, has gotten more draconian the last ten years ... but ways around most stuff, specially if you're building for your self, rather than commercially.;)
they were a decent earner Jim, but only ever made them when I had time .. were a decent 'hospital job' if we had a slack day or two.
would make them in batches, usually ten at a time. Always kept axle units in stock and if quiet would form up a batch of body components ... put them together if we were quiet .. priced to sell, we rarely had them sat in stock for long. did a 750kg unbraked, 900kg braked and a 1300 kg braked in the '8 x 4' size ... also 2 x 1 m smaller half tonner, unbraked and a 5 x 3 'camper' which were always popular .... paid the wages on quiet days, which weren't often .... bigger stuff was to order only

this boat was in two halves and bolted together, or could be used as two separate units

Wouldn't worry...yes there funny etc...but the platform is owned by the chinks...chatting to an IT guru who strongly recommended not installing it in your device...very dubious about its aims...
