OK ... fresh set of pix quota ...
having checked the pivot holes with the vernier, they were all pretty much on the 32mm mark .... 'cept for the middle bits of the pins themselves, which appeared to have taken all the wear ... miraculously - so found some 32 mm bar ... of which I had very little ... this was a ring rolling mandrel I used to use in me lathe for rolling a length of rings from a length of bar ... but was me only piece so it had to have it ...
View attachment 13562

drive tag came off and it became a 'length of 32 mm again :giggle: ..... for some new pins ... after I'd gotten the remnants of the one lil' sod out of course
flushed the one end off with a 9" thin disc ....
View attachment 13563

but still wouldn't have it with me one hand-er and drift .....

View attachment 13564

.......might've with someone holding the drift, but wasn't happening so ...... split the lugs with the 9"

View attachment 13565

and out they came, with a bit of slogging ...

View attachment 13566

the offending item's constituent parts :giggle:
View attachment 13567
note the worn centre portion

ran a weld across the top of the slits ... only need to stop 'em opening up ... lopped up some new pins and made a couple of retainers ... stop 'em going round in't holes ... summat a little more substantial'd 've been good, but sod all to hand :( they'll do for now
View attachment 13568

couple of grease nipples in the moving parts ......

and hopefully they'll be good for a few more years :giggle:
also sorted the wiring out this morning and got that all secured and re-routed ... and have been pratting about with some mod.s to that for an hour or so before tea and had a bit of a go at the brake linkages and compensator ... which wasn't co-operating at all, so soaking in WD for the night ... day just seemed to evaporate ... but've made decent progress and the body's about ready to get stuck back on .... the ali primer makes a decent top coat too ... lasts for years on everything I've ever used it on - like me trailers ... only ever had two coats ..... and now it is time for me bed ;)
Really enjoying reading this😊, as for the paint on the underside, think that got last done in 2009/2010?

These are few of it in its original colour, had to be one of the nicest places I’ve worked with stunning views, Embsay, near Skipton. This is where it all started with Bentleys, with “no more than 12 weeks hire” that turned into 4 years+😎

stunning location ... take it you are in the spill ways in that first pic ?
Yeh, it was to put a new spill way and spilling basin in, only raised it by about 100mm if I remember, sacrilege really to take all that stone out and replace it with concrete for only 100mm. Most of the coping stones where saved but the rest and the wall went to the crusher.

the bottom got flumed and once that was done we could start breaking the wall out.

The spilling basin was all piled, polystyrene templates were put in, and concreted round, then they would do every other one, fill it with concrete as they came out, then drop a cage in, then go back and do the ones they missed out.

we had to strengthen one of the bridges at the other side to get a crane in, (this was the overflow from the spillway) so, it was flumed and filled with like an expanding foam type solution. Then we just worked are way in cleaning it all out so it could be replaced with concrete culverts.

this little Brokk was bought in for the last bit of exposing the main water pipes, to get the bulk of it off we used hydro demolition.

That looks a really interesting job to be involved with! As said, total sacrilege to crush those walls though, what a massive shame.

Really enjoying reading this😊,
well yer's today's episode ..... slow start this morning ... hamster juice day, so didn't get out there 'til almost lunchtime ...

brake compensator, even after a night's WD soak still took some persuading apart ...

WP_20200413_13_52_36_Pro.jpg

managed to split the one yoke off, but had to cut the rod on t'other, but got it eventually ... stripped cleaned, greased, re-assembled and back in spot ...

WP_20200413_14_22_16_Pro.jpg

brake rods came out of the actuators in the hubs ... to my amazement ... straightened them out, copper slipped and back in for a length suss ...

WP_20200413_14_31_33_Pro.jpg

bit of a break for a late lunch in the sun, which'd eventually showed its face... cold old NE wind today though ....
WP_20200413_15_05_26_Pro.jpg

trees have come on leaps and bounds this last week ... no leaves at all last weekend !!

Anyway .....then made up some new yoke ends ....

WP_20200413_16_22_46_Pro.jpg

new clevises and it was pulling sweet :).... had a nice hand brake lever sat in me box (y).... old SD1 rover assembly, like new and had been pondering HTF to get it to pull the 'triangle' arrangement on the side of the draw bar, which needed a nigh on vertical pull to make it work ... that'd been do-able, but in the way for other things :(.. so thought sod it .. no mechanical advantage gained in the 'triangle' so take it out the equation and just use a straight pull :)

turnbuckle for adjustment up front .... easier than grovelling under the back ;)
WP_20200413_19_32_46_Pro.jpg

brakes pull on nicely now :giggle:(y) ... however ... whilst sussing that, discovered a very wobbly LH wheel :(... hopefully taper rollers in need of adjusting ... tomorrow's job ... and have a suss of the brake drum internals whilst I'm at it ....

So if I understand this correctly, you're worried about mixing oils when used on different plant?

I'd suggest over engineering it so you can use dual hookups but have some changeover valves or even dual rams. If it's worth doing, it's worth druiding.
Right Alex ... hadn't forgotten this one .... the issue I have is; the 'Drema is on bio-oil ... contaminating that with mineral oil is an absolute no no ... and only needs less than 1% to be an issue ...
's why I am religious about cleaning out any new att. I acquire, of mineral oil. I have emptied the trailer ram and pipework of Ollies mineral, having intended to use the 'Drema's hyds to power it, but the dumper is also capable of towing this (and will have the facility to tip it, once I plumb it ;) ) and as said I'll also have a.n.other tow unit shortly .. plus could also be used behind the Jake, with a hitch fitted to that  ... all these are mineral oil.

It could just be lifted with the 'Drema, but as discussed may cause oil issues ... Rory's suggestion of a header tank and a 3x1 valve for a changeover, from powered to lifted, would work nicely ..... (y)
or
there is another way ..... use an additional ram slung under the chassis somewhere .... with mineral oil one side of the piston and bio the other, to isolate the two systems ... would need to suss the volume of the tip ram to get a sufficiently large enough unit, but do have several here that may well be suitable
then just have a 3x1 changeover valve to swap between sources and would need an additional line to feed either the bio fed actuator or the mineral conventional circuit .. a lot of faff TBH ... but do-able
for the amount the 'Drema'll ever need to tip it ... a lift will do TBH ... working somewhere on a site'd be a different matter .. but'd then be behind the 'Drema constantly anyway

Forgot to say earlier.......

not been my day for things electrical ...... bloody charger for me Screwfix Erbauer battery drill didn't want to play when I plugged it in ..... was fine last time I used it - not as if it gets used a lot ... doubt I've charged the batteries more than 20 times since i've had it - they seem to last for ages
and
even more annoyingly ... switched me Ipod on this morning for me usual day's sounds and that wouldn't play - literally - blank screen and no amount of trying'd get anything up ..... it's getting on .. have had it a long time, but only ever really gets switched on and left for the day .. rarely 'skip about' on it ... summat like 8000+ tracks on it and I just go from where I left off the day before, usually when it's switched on ......... hopefully it might have its head together tomorrow ... but it's quiet with out it :cry:

So a horribly over complicated solution it is!

I wonder if you could find a very big bored cylinder to do the job, wouldn't need much space for stroke then.

sadly i binned such a cylinder (several actually) in me workshop clear out .... and a matched pair of 5 stage, dual acting cylinders :( .... couldn't keep it all :cry::mad:

Stop kicking yourself, you knew you didn't have room for it all! You clearly prioritised what you could, though maybe one extra 40-footer may have been better ;)

are you trying to wind me up ... or what ..... not been from here in pushing 4+ weeks .... an' another 8 to go ...... progress is ****ing zero Boyo ... no planings, so no prep. for a box move .. and no crane to do that with .... keeping meself occupied, is about the size of it, ATM
have seriously considered a cutting list to me old suppliers and making the framework ..... got plenty of time on me hands ... SWMBO'd have a fit if a lorry load of cut beams turned up, one morning

Lol, not trying to wind you up, just wondering how you were getting on! Sounds like a plan there tho. You have nothing but time right now, and a nice big project to get stuck into is probably worth her anger for a day or two, till she forgets and realises you're happy and back to doing what you do best!

How much erection do you think you can manage with the duck and Jake? Box move possible with them?

'S alright Alex ... yanking yer chain Boyo ;):p:ROFLMAO: ...
erection wise the duck'd do it all .....
have considered fabbing the rafters and legs as units ... no bolted connections ..
but'd be nice to have a slab to work on .. POP with a string line and a tape and the 'Drema'd handle 'em no sweat ...... have made 40 ft span rafters as one piece units before .. adding a couple of legs'd be no issues.

will have to get hold of my lad Richy ... see if I can use my old Kingsland ... or if he'd like to part with it .. :giggle: ... POP with a universal metalworker, making plates, cleats, etc.

these were 34ft .. drop onto a silage pit columns

Could it be an option to fit an independent tank/pump setup powered by a battery similar to the setup you get on an ifor Williams tipper, either with a leisure battery fitted or an Anderson plug connection for powering from prime mover. The hydraulics could have a tee to be driven directly from other equipment like dumper or jake but when on hydrema could be donkey pump to get her up.
