well you couldn't script it ...
tel. call about 12ish from the nurse in SDEC - tomorrow morning's appointment was now gonna be 08.15 on the 1st September
couldn't tell me why ?

So called AJ's PA, Danielle - ansafone - left a message asking her to call me as soon as convenient.
Rang her again at 15.00 .. she was about to call me back
Asked her if all the 'goings on' were right?
She'd speak with 'AJ' and get back to me shortly, which in fairness she did fairly promptly. (y)

Apparently radiology had not read the original MRI booking request properly/fully, asking for an appointment, mid Sept. and'd booked me in ASAP.
'AJ' had been into SDEC this morning - the nurse had explained this morning's screw up and 'AJ' 'd said no - September - re-book it and ring me back :(

did try and persuade Danielle to leave it stand, as I'd not had the best of days Monday and hopefully an MRI'd show whether it'd burgered off naturally (as hoped) - much as she understood, she couldn't, but any issues at all and get my bum back to Hereford straight away :(

if only that text had showed up on time for this morning, I'd 've had 45 minutes in the 'tube' and a better idea of where I am/it is
so back to treading on egg shells/doing sod all strenuous - for a month !!
's doing my swede :(

yeh right !!!!
W⚓s couldn't organise a gang bang in a brothel.
the £26+m they're spending on 'accommodating' the extra tossers could be better spent ANYWHERE else 🤬🤬🤬
would fix a few potholes to start -
aside from all the extra salaries they'll all be soaking up like the spongers they are 😤
Don't forget the pensions.

wanted to go buy this yesterday ... cheapest one i've seen in ages - could do with summat for running up/down the drive/getting about round here, with tools, etc. -- legs are not getting any newer :( ...
KLF300B needed a seat cover and a solenoid for the leccy hoof - pull started fine and was fairly local - all trim/plastics intact - well shod - 11k on the clock - never been road reg. - 500 quid :giggle::cool: ----
jeez did I get some earache :( -
upshot was, by the time the 'discussions' had finished, some other lucky bas***d had been and got it :(

daren't tell her I've been talking to the guy with this, this week

he's the second owner for the last 15 years - '91 Hyster H80E - 8000lbs (4 federal tons) (my H80C handled 5+t with ease)

has one issue - (well two) it's a monotrol g/box :( (not my favourite) and it doesn't like going uphill backwards - fine in fwd or either way on the flat
sadly I do not know enough about the function of a monotrol, how to set the pressures up on them and my tame Hyster fitter has retired and disappeared off the face of the earth :(
this is one tidy H80 - but could be a gamble  for £2k ... or less ;) (been advertised for weeks)
only other issue I can see is the height of that mast - Owner claims he can get it under a 12ft door head - looks a lot taller than 12ft to my eye - the ROPS on there is a good 8ft off the deck and IMHDO the top of that mast is gotta be pushing 14 ft, which makes for transport issues on anything other than an FLT carrier (my local bloke with a beaver tail'd struggle with anything over 12ft tall)

my old '79, H80C (the wear mark on the LH side of the ROPS is reach height from the floor for getting in - say 6' 6" + - ish) - top of the mast was about 10ft tall

I can't/am struggling to, resist a trip out to have a look at yon truck, but'd love a conversation with Dennis (the Hyster fitter) first  (and a definitive height measurement from the owner first - who seems reluctant to provide one - probably knows the cost of moving it on suitable tranny :()
@Routy56 - thoughts on the height of that mast??? or anyone else?

5.2m lift so Looks like just duplex mast so 12ft could be right. Otherwise like you say it's a job for walkers .

compare it to my 10ft high mast though Gavin - it looks immense  a 17ft 4" lift on a duplex would mean a hell of a root section - yes 12ft 'd do it but just can't see it ???

Hey Gra, you must get permission from SWMBO before proceeding any further 🤣
My Hyster H50H is about 8’6” to the top of the mast. I’ll check again in the morning for the ROPS etc 😉
I’ve had mine about 10-12 years now and use it most days. Such a handy tool around my yard 🥸

well the green stuff had to have it yesterday ....
well most of it .. after approaching two 'low speed' hours on the Countax I'd had enough jiggling about .. thought discretion was the better part of valour and left the Dane-ing for another day
lawn is not looking the greatest - apart from where there are drainage lines under it
this un is where our sewage line runs to the septic ..

WP_20250731_16_25_43_Pro.jpg
WP_20250731_16_25_43_Pro.jpg

and the line down the edge is a land drain
WP_20250731_16_25_36_Pro.jpg

this, I suspect, is a soak away for the roof water ... too high above the septic to be for that ..... and is pretty rectangular
WP_20250731_16_25_59_Pro.jpg

had to have two passes to get it down ...
WP_20250806_16_21_16_Pro.jpg

only bit that's really growing, but still had a collector full off it all ... hasn't been mowed since before the end of June
usually have to do it every 6 days, this time of year
did have a few runs, down the side of the drive, as usual, just to tidy the edges ... Dane job for the rest of it - in a day or two

Sounds like you are on the mend if your appetite is back - hurry up and get on with this rotary coupling ffs!
was allowed to 'play' today :giggle::giggle: only 'cos the hose reel gave up the unending struggle to keep water on the inside, where it was 'sposed to be ;):ROFLMAO:
so Dan gets his wish
only 'close' bearing I had sat needed sleeve-ing up --- closest thing i could find was a nice bit of MDPE - which needed a mil. taking out of it to fit the S/s nipple I'd found to suit the job
WP_20250809_13_22_19_Pro.jpg

put a nice cone on the inside of that ready for a compression joint jobbie
WP_20250809_13_22_24_Pro.jpg

and pressed it into place
WP_20250809_13_37_16_Pro.jpg

then I had to try and tidy up what was left of the hose reel's original spigot ..
WP_20250809_13_56_11_Pro.jpg

and pulled it's now pretty ferked rotary apart, to see WTF was inside it ....
WP_20250809_14_03_08_Pro.jpg

it's done really well considering it's 15 yr old and gets used A LOT --
WP_20250809_14_08_25_Pro.jpg

there's a couple of really banjaxed O rings lurking in there and the spigot was a lot longer than I was expecting, which was good news
WP_20250809_15_22_28_Pro.jpg

took a bit of cleaning up - and reducing to a size that'd sleeve up into the nipple .... there's always a use for hand tools and this was one of 'em ... but still had to ream a mil out of the compression nut to get it on the spigot and then persuade a copper olive on after that :giggle:;) - it was going on there whether it liked it or not
WP_20250809_15_28_56_Pro.jpg

then it was lathe time ...
had Serge, his missus and a mutual friend from Jockland round here Tuesday for lunch and a leisurely afternoon catching up with them all --- me gennie came up in conversation (as it does, when he and I get talking) and he asked how long since I'd run it up -- multiple weeks was the obvious reply, due to 'an unforeseen short break in Hereford general' and subsequent recuperation time -- " get and run it up ASAP Gra, doesn't do 'em any good standing about too long " ... so ... I ran it up Thursday morning - well I tried to - must've put a curse on it - spent an hour cleaning up the usual suspect earths and it eventually kicked into life only to die several seconds later - gave the lift pump a few good pumps, 'til it went light and turned it over again - ran for about a minute, at a mere 1300 rpm, then promptly coughed to a halt again - repeat lift pump and go again and it ran for a few minutes, again at 1300 rpm :unsure:o_O and quietly climbed up to 1500 after about 20 minutes :censored: WEIRD!!! Fuel filter's only done 100 hrs ? ......
anyway it ran for a good 3/4 hr and I shut it down - been at temp. for most of it, charging fine and battery was well up anyway.
fast forward to today ..... same bloody thing again - 1300 rpm and stop solenoid was HOT within a minute or so, so am suspecting that's not pulling off properly on start up and quietly working its way out as it warms/vibrates ..
got up to 1500 rpm/50hz so wound the lathe up to make a bearing mount with some 63mm CHS .............................................cut a piece of 70mm flat to carry it, got that set out and in the Ajax for a clearance hole
WP_20250809_17_00_15_Pro.jpg
WP_20250809_16_06_10_Pro.jpg

trial fit and .......
WP_20250809_17_12_46_Pro.jpg

set up ready for a bit of hot stick
WP_20250809_17_12_32_Pro.jpg
fit
didn't want to give it too much heat and shrink the damned thing, and not as if it's carrying a lot

WP_20250809_17_49_20_Pro.jpg

can see what the clearance hole is for now ;)

old one had gone HARD AS and the fittings weren't gonna work on the new set up ... then I find having removed the Geka QC, I'd had in place, I had to open up the stainless adaptor to 15mm to suit the O ringed outlet spigot at the pump :(
so got that sorted and all connected up ... slipped the nice S/s ISO A onto the reel's new spigot

works a bloody treat - no leaks and rotates like a good un ..... 'the boss' was suitably impressed and I'm happy it all worked out 'as planned' :giggle:(y)
hopefully this will outlast me :giggle: .. that reel was 40 quid when I bought it in 2010 and has been very good (aside from the crap rotary wearing out) -- they're now 140 quid
better find it some dark Brunswick green to keep the rust worm at bay :)
