It will take years for anything to come of it! I really hope not but ultimately it comes down to the local planners in the first instance! They are generally clueless and just reject anything they are unsure about!

very different morning to the forecast .. blue sky and sunshine - 13C though, so got the gear out and cracked on with the brownie points job
cut some materials and spent ages getting it cleaned up and the carbon black mill scale skin off it and set about assembling it ..

Phone rang as I was getting going - have said before - don't answer the bloody thing when I'm at summat ..

got it together and realised I'd ferked up and made it up the wrong way round .....
so cut it up and started again

took it down for a trial fit in the available 'slot' .. spot on, so holed it and set about assembly ...
after I'd wire brushed all the crud off the mesh and gotten it shining again
Top level shelf ...

and then added a few more

and a couple of extra cross bars to firm up the back of the mesh, on the middle two ......
all assembled ..

I need to lacquer the back plate assembly as didn't have any stainless to make it from ... the rest'll look after itself, but in a kitchen environment it'll rust otherwise ...
was gonna get it done and the finest of fine drizzle that's been blowing in the wind got a bit less fine and I stashed it for the night, 'fore it got wet ... don't want to be having to clean it AGAIN !!

while I had the caddy out I stuck a bit of hot stick on a couple of fittings I modified and adapted several weeks ago and have been sat waiting to get stuck together

couple of metric ends off some dead hoses from the 'Drema, with some BSP adaptors attached ... always got plenty of BSP hoses sat about, that'd get me going/out the tish, if I get a burst, but everything on the 'Drema's metric .....
these'll come in handy if I need 'em

been out for a little ride out this evening ..
to bandit country in Caerphilly ...
in pursuit of a little something off FB MP
not been down around that particular way since the late 80,s .. best avoided

been keeping an eye open for just such a beast for a long time

that's about 12" in diameter and about the same tall ... not measured it yet - damned near dark when I got back
also came with a nice 1x3 valve tha's gotta be 40-50 quids-worth on its own

took three, (well two and a half - the seller had a crocked hand), of us to get the damned thing in the Kia's boot ....
's gonna take some getting back out in the morning

apologies for the picture quality - like I said - was almost dark here at 9 o'clock
talking to the guy I had it off, after wrestling it in, he had the whole bloody press frame, but stripped it and scrapped it - was too heavy for him to move about in one lump (no lifting tack) - absolutely gutted when he told me that - 4 post platen press frame, with 70mm tie rods -- said he could barely lift the tie rods, singly, let alone the top/bottom platens
gonna make a very cool press
I doubt it has a huge stroke - these big rams don't generally, but packers are your friends on a press

My big press I used to have in work was a 150t Enerpac cylinder, of roughly the same proportions as this, but quite a few inches taller .. that never failed to separate (or destroy) whatever it was applied to

Thought it was a hydraulic jack to lift up the flt if it ever gets a puncture also you can change the tyres out in winter for snow tyres on it

well I ain't had a proper measure up yet, but assuming a circa 9" diameter bore, that's 71 square inches so at 1 bar, that'd give you 1.1tonnes ... multiply by however many bar you have available
the 'Drema's Main PRV is set at 350 bar ...
dunno about lil' jake's? .....
but might empty his oil tank
and have a 250 bar pack here too
if it ain't lashing down in the a.m. and I can get the damned thing out the boot, I'll pop it on the bench and give it some air (very gently) and see what stroke I've got -- job for an adjustable pressure regulator
hopefully it'll have a MWP stamped on it somewhere

I'm busily ratcheting it down to the Kia's tie down points and the guy says to me
" that ain't gonna go anywhere, it's too heavy "

it was a very cautious, smooth drive home
I did consider chucking a trailer on, but he said two of us could lift it, so thought " sod it " and stuck some ply in to keep the Kia's boot floor in one piece ...
ferk it took some getting up off the floor and in there, with some slings around it as handles

pretty certain i made this maybe 40 years ago ... used to make a lot of 'em ... muddies aren't original though .... still got a kit of folded bits sat here for one , that I didn't skip - too handy to chuck

well Lil' Jake got it out the boot for me Wed.s morning and stuck it on the bench

's 'kin heavy .. can't recall WTF I got roped into for a few hours but it was summat for the boss, for sure
didn't get back to this 'til well after tea time ... gave it some air to see what sort of travel it'd give, then the rain kicked off so wrapped it up for the night

did get all the grass mowed in the afternoon though and a coat of lacquer on Pam's saucepan rack ready to get it installed -- she was champing at the bit to have it in place
also gave the little trailer I made for behind the tug a coat of varnish/lacquer before tea

then it lashed it down for 6 hrs
pan rack's lacquer'd dried by the following morning ('d been indoors drying) so it got stuck up the following evening, after the kids'd gone .. put it up the wrong way up, but she wouldn't let me put it right .. she liked the small lip it gave to the edges

dropped this on the bench after tea ... been meaning to strip the hitch and free the pins off on it for quite some time .. little infill 'fore it got dark and a coat of shiny tish to stop it getting any rustier - 's the tow bar for my Micron - made it a loooooong time ago -- probably older than some of you guys on here .. will fit it on and get a pic to show how it functions

this came over earlier in the day - pursued by a helicopter, presumably filming it? amazing it stayed in the air, the pace it was going

these also arrived for a little project .. more on that one again, when I get to it ...... and yesterday was school fete day at Clara's school - just recalled WTF I was up to the other day - school sports day .... knackered that afternoon

'spose I'd better go take a look at it .. what's been omitted, is the fact that only last week the boss was asking me, if it was the 12th or the 13th
