oh aye .. no idea WTF he ended up where he did .. either fell asleep or was trying not to go up some one's arse, at a guess .. perfectly straight piece of road ..
Russ's mate had gotten hold of the arse of it by the time he arrived and wanted Russ to hold the front and ease it out as they hauled ..

was getting dark, by the time they'd gotten a real handle on it

and had it mobile again - sort of
was elevan o'clock by the time Russ got in the house ('bout 4 miles from there) had a bite, a cuppa and hit the sack ..
Up at six this morning to get to Worcester side of Tenbury Wells (got a member on here from there) to load out some machines from a marble cutting/polishing place ..
moving premises ...
lashing down when he arrived ..
the clean up is gonna take a week or two

Russ said the maintenance engineer deserves a medal

and this is what I'd planned to be having a go at yesterday .. boss wants a saucepan rack .. can't find anything suitable, so has 'commissioned' one
nice bit of S/steel mesh I've had sat a long time and some stainless round bar ..

lopped some panels out of the 6' x 4' piec I had to suit the available dimensions, then bent up some edge frames to suit

this was worth every penny of the hundred an' a bit quid it cost .. for the occasional use it gets, perfectly adequate and it takes some beating to produce nice consistent bends, where you want them .. just looked and now 165 quid

not a patch on the Goliath I used to have in work - that was a solid lump of a beast and probably 50-60% heavier for a very similar size - and nine times the price

couple of golden rules using any hand bender .. bends WILL gain, so be careful how you sequence them and try to start from equal//similar points and you'll end up with what you're trying for ..especially if you're after multiples/repeats

stashed in the dry for the night .. get these shelf panels assembled, then put the wire brush over 'em to get 'em clean(er) - again - been sat on a piece of 6mm plate and transferred some oxide onto the surface, in sitting there
if it stays dry for the morning, see if i can get it all assembled tomorrow and earn yet more brownie points ...
gonna need 'em when an FLT arrives

wet 'til half one and then had to let me bench dry off ..
looked good for the rest of the day - if only ...
absolutely lashed it down, hour an' a half later
got everything away just 'fore it really let go

and the last one after a good wire brushing to clean it up ..
three more in need of the same

rained like hell for half an hour then eased off so hung on a while and it just kept on coming again and again, so gave up and went and had me Hamster juice ...
been sunny as **** since
not looking much cop before Wed.s ... wet, wet, oh and a bit of rain to go with it .. BST be bolloxed

if it hadn't looked like it was gonna be a nice afternoon, I'd not have bothered TBH
was blue sky once the rain had stopped ...
'til the bloody S Westerly brought us more of the wet sh1t
plus it's bloody horizontal a lot of the time - you'd need a marquee

I had considered a sliding roof mounted on inverted sliding door gear rollers and tracking, extending off the box tops, but'd need 550 quidsworth of gear, aside from the framing and covering .. wouldn't be a cheap job really

At what point do you jfdi.
Surely if you put up a polebarn just for cover put in for retrospective planning and just kept appealing it then at the rate the government work it would see you out.

Already got boxes there. Drag em apart and stick a run of sheets between...at least for this winter. It's what I did at work it's been a godsend this winter .
I'm doing a 4m square pole barn from my milled stuff at home . I'm not having another winter like the last... absolutely crap

ferkin' summer's not a lot better ATM TBH ...
may well dream summat up, but often playing with heavy tish so need to be able to get at the benches with the machine, so'd need to be 'easily displaced'

My ‘lean-from’ has been a really handy addition. 3 legs bolted to the floor - it’s a temporary structure as far as I’m concerned.

Wasn’t far off, trying to get my dads 4100 back, but the guy he sold it to ruined it by painting it dark blue, so it would need a full overhaul… what a shame
