I'm fairly certain it was extended to 3.5t trailers too, about 15+ years ago ... never had any aggro/pulls from having different plates

Seems they’re the same now,
As of Feb 1st all numberplate offences are £60 non endorsable.
Up until that point it was cheaper not to have one than have a misrepresented one?!?!

had planned to collect a dose of 45 gal. drums this morning ... 'til Simon called and said he'd been called into a break down in the factory .. however, Pam was all gee-ed up to get dropped off at the garden ctr. on the way, for a 'browse', so thought sod it .... I'll go get me pipes made up, while she has a saunter and i'll get the drums a.n.other day ('cos I'll need some more pipes shortly anyway).
plumbing sorted and sat having a coffee in said gardening emporium .. Simon on the phone "Am I right in recalling you have lots of pullers and can I come over? " .. "Pretty fair selection .. Give me half an hour to get home and I'll dig out what I have "
left the bigger stuff in the cupboard .. bloody heavy! ... and wasn't quite sure what was gonna do the job, from the explanation on the phone.
He duly arrived and after further discussion left with what he considered'd do, to do the job, after i'd shown him how a lot of it went together. Good old Sykes
me change-over switch arrived in the post yesterday, so the email said this morning, so went an had a look in the box - sure enough - there it was, complete with waterproof cover
that was gonna have to wait
so after Simon departed and I'd emptied me spoils out of the bucket I took with me to Fastfluids (oily hoses and new chariot are not happy bedfellows) ..
I had a bit of a size up and suss ... little tails were a great fit, but needed a bracket ..
bulkhead flange created then need summat to attach that to ...
new plate created to add to the bolt on section and marked up ready get welded together - off the machine - job for tomorrow, whilst I have the caddy out to weld the gear stick back on the Thwaites .... pipes installed this evening ...
..... and gonna have to recruit Pam for a hand to get the deck plate back on in the morning .. getting it off on me own was heavy enough .. needs to go back on in a more controlled manner, than the heave hoe, coming off
that one cable tie may look a bit ' Heath ', but it's an 'in case' job, to make damned sure it stays clear of the handbrake calliper .. don't want any more holes rubbing through .. it's well up .. but .... and also added some sleeving around the hoses to 'save' them from the cable tie, after I'd taken the piccy and considered it a wise idea
so morning jobs are:- replace dumper's floor, weld gear stick and weld bracket for lil' Jake ... followed by a switch install and wiring in to the right arm rest on lil' Jake ... that's likely to be great fun - not!!
ordered a double pilot operated check valve for the Haner this evening, after much searching for as small a 1/4" block I could find ... from previous experience, with my various grabs, they tend to let go, without a check valve, to the point they drop whatever they have a hold of, if just gripping on the edges ... well worth the effort of buying and installing ... although this un is going to be a challenge, with the available space
Oh .. and I ought to get a bit of paint on the bracketry for the 6x2 diverter, 'fore it starts to leach rusty marks down the dipper, when it next rains.

I'm interested to see how you go about the check valve install, my little Dala Gripen DGS12 needs one and i can't decide whether to try and fit one or change it for a Intermacato that has one as standard.had planned to collect a dose of 45 gal. drums this morning ... I used to drive a merlo telehandler which unlike most telehandlers didn't have check valves fitted to auxiliary circuits so would drop bales from bale squeezes and grabs and the muck grab would slowly open and drop sh** everywhere. Now this bit might get us told off by some of the others on here but we deemed that as it wasn't factory standard it wasnt a safety option so fitting it remotely on Flexi pipes would be adequate. It worked perfectly fine for what it was intended and only required 2 short pipes to be made so it was up near the qr couplings

needs at least the motion doing the gripping to be on the cylinder port ... hoses expand (slightly) and give the same issue, nigh on .... could do it with steel pipes, slightly remote from the cylinder if need be.

.... fitted a temporary gear stickand moved it a bit closer to the 'hot stick dept. and tools
vee-ed the stick end and set it up where it needed to be
'fore giving it 'the treatment' ....... after I'd plugged the hole to 'below decks' with an azzy blanket ... didn't want any stray hot bit setting fire to anything down there.
note to self ... cut the stick a bit higher next time .. tad awkward where it was !!
and while I had it there I re-attached the end of the greedy board, which'd been detached, since I've had it and gave the one corner of the skip a bit of a touch up too
job did, I cleared all the various 'growth', leaves and crap, etc., from where it'd been sat and put it back
that'd eaten a fair portion of the day
next up was dismantle Lil' Jake's 6x2 bracketry, to stick the last two bits together ...
give 'em a coat of 'Druid gold' and get 'em back in situ
anyone know if it's possible to get a weatherproof cover/shroud for a solenoid coil/plug/socket ... be nice to keep the inevitable weather off it, if poss ... or even suggestions for summat that might do/be pressed into service as a cover ??
and while I was well oily, fitted those two banjo adapters I picked up at Fastfluids ... pipes route much better, although they're temporary, I can at least suss a length for two new dedicated lines - after it's been fiddled about with, yet again, once the check valve's arrived and i've persuaded it into place ... I'm anticipating needing the banjos for that too.

Certainly more manageable than the beast that @fred and myself tried to tame!!! I still look at smaller ducks but have decided for the work that I do and enjoy the 3ton and 8ton tracked machines are the tools of choice!!

I couldn’t cope with it on my farm as it is not flat and this was too heavy for my ground conditions. Awesome piece of kit in the right environment which I think it found with the next owner who was doing industrial estate refurb and new industrial buildings. Big flat hard surface on sit it on!!
