Plymouth tribe up over the weekend ... Pam not up to coping with Josh, missus and 4 kids for the whole weekend, so they stayed with Vicki in town and we got them in small doses

three birthdays in September .. Harpers on the 11th and two of Josh's boys later in the month (can't recall exactly when), but Pam did them all a cake - again
wasn't a lot left by the end of yesterday afternoon, when they departed and peace returned to Chez Druid.

Bit of a 'pottery' day today, recovering and Pam decided she wanted to strim the edges of the lawn after lunch .. got herself togged and harnessed .. gave the Husqy a yank or six - she's not quite got the knack of a cold start, despite being shown many times -- having listened to the efforts I had to go and give it the required 'yank' for a first time start on choke .... gave it some and it just went click, click, click - bugger !!
Summat not right in the pull cord dept.

So .. bench time for the Husqy .. got it all apart and seemed to be fine - suspected the engagement pawls - got that assembly off and gave it a good clean with some carb cleaner - moved a lot free-er - little bitch to remove - all back together to try - nah!!

back apart and pulling at the cord all moving fine, so took a hold of the drive plate and it weren't going round under load

so pulled that apart and it's got an anti snatch set up in there with a double wound spring - very clever - #cept the one drive leg'd given up the struggle
so ....... into the vice, little blow torch out and warm up the busted end of yon spring - hey presto temp. repair, 'til LS can get/send me a new one
re-assemble and test drive
edges of lawn massacred and everything else around it i can't get at with the mower .. whilst Pam sorted tea .... fair pile of green tish to pick up tomorrow ....... now let's get a spring ordered
