Bloody hell was it a year ago you were messing about underneath it?
Nothing thawed here either. You forget what that looks like. I imagine it's the kind of climate the soldiers in ww2 suffered 44/45 imagine camping in fox holes in that weather. Were they even allowed fires on the front line?!
aye .......remarkable eh?? .....
started on the second and was floored 'til the eighth with ????? -- Covid IMHDO .... came in and collapsed in a heap in a chair and stayed there for 4 days, with a hefalump sat on me chest ... continuous cough and everything tasted like sh1t ... could NOT lie down.
Where'd that go eh?? ... strangest year any of us is ever going to experience (hopefully)

another cold one last night ... was some bit white at seven this morning when Sparts woke me up howling .... dashed down expecting to see him in trouble ....... and he's sat beside an empty dish ..... singing for his brekky .... lil' bugger
did have a decent day for a while though .....(y)

you might be able to see a large buzzard sat sunning himself on a fence post here yesterday
WP_20210109_14_20_59_Pro.jpg

was there sometime ...... and had a nice sunset too
WP_20210109_17_06_17_Pro.jpg

which contributed to a serious frost overnight ..... vehicles were white as soon as the sun went down and was -4C when I went to bed

We love buzzards - they tell you that the environment is healthy.
We have one near here that roosts in a tree beside the main A120 🥰
Our cats too have their routine telling us when they want feeding.
It's amusing to watch how they lead Sharon to their feeding bowls 😅
Willow who is 13 now has developed a nasty cough.
After a number of visits to the vets, X-Rays and examinations, the vet thinks she has an allergy to something and has prescribed steroids.
The only safe way to get her to take the tablets is to grind them up and hide them in Tuna
BUT, Sharon has to do 2 bowls of Tuna - one for each cat and don't mix the up!
Willow has got so used to this routine that she actually 'asks' Sharon very loudly and leads her not the kitchen and looks at empty bowls :ROFLMAO:
More great photos of the cold spell.
Over here in NE Essex it's been hovering about -3c overnight and rising to about zero during the day.
Still this coming week it's gonna be milder......

we're very lucky here @Routy56 ... we have a LOT of predatory birds ... buzzards, red kites and even the odd sparrow hawk, then there's the couple of pairs of jays about here, several woodpeckers, red and green and all the usual 'garden' boyrdies .. and several robins who each defend their little patches vigorously. Have even seen a couple of stoats and weasels

also been lucky with the white shite so far, with only that one day's couple of inches, laying for a day or so .... rest of the country's had some proper dumps in places. The snow magnet here must've blown a breaker an' I'm in no hurry to sort that :giggle:

My co-pilot continues to amaze us with how he keeps on going .. eats for Wales several times a day and has a voice like a fog horn, when he wants attention, which is virtually constant if he's not asleep. Awake, he 'staggers' about doggedly, but we're both expecting to come down one morning and find him permanently 'asleep'. he'll keep going as long as he eats like he does (y) and we make sure he gets plenty, on demand.

........ ... next essential'll be MOT next Thursday for the P38
well it passed on everything ..... but emissions  .. couldn't even get it to behave on LPG ..... so new pair of cats and lambdas ordered this morning ...... ebay're 20% less than the local factors ... but there are so many 'variants' on these - even with a chassis number, you can't be certain:(
- good old Landrover - first thing out the parts bin and slam it on  ......
so bit the 20% bullet and got it local .... much easier to send back, if it ain't right ..... Monday/Tuesday look 'kin wet, so'll be Wednesday 'fore I can get it in the air and wrestle a large lump of 'zorst system off the manifolds and replace it with the new one ........
's in one piece :oops::oops: .....
1610760235245.png

centre box's looking iffy too, so I'll chuck one o' they on as well .....
will be interesting to see if the right lambdas arrive Monday .... there're two variants of those too  and I've told 'em which ones - plugs're different :mad:

been dry here today - amazingly, but a cold easterly, enough to take yer ears off and thought I'd better get this done ............

......and just to dampen my satisfaction on my return ...... our water pump's pressure switch has decided to play silly buggers this evening.......'spect the diaphragm's gone hard ..... cutting in when it feels like it and not when demanded ..... so ... job for the morning .... find me new spare and fit that !!!!!! .......

didn't get done as planned .... weather probably:rolleyes: ... or just the fact it was Crimbo day and it was behaving - sort of .... anyway ... it pee-ed me off for the last time this morning ... and it came out from where it lives
WP_20210115_12_17_38_Pro.jpg

some sun would've been nice to take the edge off the wind, but it had to have it ...
easy enough swap ..... on the bench ;).... once extracted ... six connections and some PTFE ..... old one off, new one on
WP_20210115_12_17_33_Pro.jpg

then juggle back into spot ... changed the filters whilst I was in there, damp an' cold and we now have normality returned ..... I'll do a PM on the old unit when it's a tad warmer, but pretty sure the diaphragm's gone hard.

Monday was hamster juice day, as usual ...... Pam had an assistant ......
WP_20210111_14_27_52_Pro.jpg

look at the concentration .... :giggle::giggle::giggle:
WP_20210111_14_28_23_Pro.jpg

and no she wasn't doing this bit .....:oops:
WP_20210111_14_31_42_Pro.jpg

just the steriprep ........ the canular is Pam's domain .... be a while 'fore Clara comes anywhere near my arm with anything sharper than the chloraprep and steri-wipes  ....... 'nother one done for another week ...... Monday comes round mighty fast these days

Has the P38 done any miles in the last 12 months? Such a wasted year all round - very frustrating!

385 miles MB ..... didn't go anywhere between mid March and mid August ... stops and starts've probably killed the cats ...... I do try to let it warm up to temperature usually, but you know what it's like ... just move it out the way quick ..... must start parking it back on the lower drive -- out the way

Probably just needs a good flogging, lot of emissions failures just need a good warm up
know what you mean ....... I usually take me MOTs to a mate 15 odd miles away, up 'the valleys', so gets a good hard run to his and is always fine .... this week was less than a mile away ... gave it a decent run first, but all on the flat ... me mate's is all up hill .. a serious pull for miles ...... but really did not fancy venturing into his area ATM :rolleyes:

well me bits for the P38 arrived Monday morning ...... 'bout an hour after Clara did  so didn't get much chance to look at it yesterday.
was amazed to see it sunny and not raining this morning ...... so after i'd tracked down a new water pump for the house ... bloody thing is still playing up ... was easier to find a pump, than a capacitor ... gotten that ordered and pee-ed about with the one in the system ... I got the old girl up in the air, to see if the bits that'd arrived looked anywhere near right...
WP_20210119_13_43_27_Pro.jpg

the wheel chock is t'other side, out of sight ;) but P and a tranny handbrake ought to keep it put anyway. Bits look there, or there abouts. (y)

it emptied down about 20 minutes after this and put a bit of a damper on any further progress ....... that and the fact that I'm gonna have to drop the gearbox cross member out (and support that enormous G/box) to get the Y piece, with the cats in it, over the top of the cross member --- and the old one out of course:rolleyes::mad: ...... gonna be a full day and preferably dry, so Thursday BTLs of the forecast.

Find one of these is a job for tomorrow .....
WP_20210119_13_03_13_Pro.jpg

start capacitor for the existing pump ...... need a second one for a.n.other water system i've yet to plumb up, to get a pressurised feed up me patch (and a spare unit, if ever needed) ........ haven't looked yet
