Hell yeah. Bluetooth which is nice. Using the brickcontroller app rather than the official Control+ app means I can use it with my Bluetooth gamepad also.

It's all getting a bit technical now, but I love it!

I did a slight mod to it as I built it and swapped two gears round on each motor. Gives it a slower speed but way more torque.

I'm tempted to order some bits and make it do 4 wheel steering, it has a spare channel on the control box, and the hubs are the same. Just need a few swivel arms and links.

got a mate who built a full size, extra SWB landy with 4 x 4 x 4 for trialing with fiddle brakes, air lockers, the works ... got bored and took up safari-ing ... was UK champ for a couple of seasons and beat the Simonites at their own game ..... Keith was awesome at it ... but you would not want to be beside him ... new internal organs required ... no kids, no mortgage and a large disposable income .... best stonemason in the area

@Cyberprog , what brand is the RC vehicle? My son is a little young at the moment, but I’d like get back into the RC cars at some point with him, I know he’s interested. But I want him to build the car from scratch, like I did as a kid. I looked in a model shop a few years ago and all I could see were pre built toys, yes they were nice, yes they were probably far more sophisticated than the RC of my youth, and yes they were expensive! But half the enjoyment for me was building the cars, fixing them when they were broken, buying spares, keeping them going ect. I’ve not done any decent research into this, many people I’ve mentioned this to said the self build thing was not common anymore, but I’ve not had a proper look into it, so I’m glad to see that you can still build your own RC vehicle!

I got a self build one the other year from this lot https://www.rccarshop.co.uk/ was just something to kill the time when working away on a nite, actually really enjoyed it....they actually have an indoor course for people who want to race them😎, ( there was a league as well!) was like going into a different world, all tables layed out for people to work on there cars etc, but suppose it’s the same as anyone else’s hobby, unless you actually do something different you don’t what’s out there.

They showed me this last night:

Yep, the Liebherr R9800. I have it sat in a box currently in the build queue, along with "Big Red" the fought terrain crane and "Little Yellow" the spider crane.

This is Lego 42099, I picked it up for £100 new from Argos before Xmas. If you want cheap & fun, buy him the 42065 RC tracked racer. It's only IR controlled but good fun to drive inside! 42099 is up around £200 currently.
