those wheels are gonna cover the vehicle in tish, being so wide/protruding beyond the body width, unshielded
Mine is filthy within minutes of washing at the minute, so much mud and shite on the road at the moment. Digger was caked by the time I got back after this mornings job.
Not sure why this defender chucks it up the sides so much, same tyre size and pattern as my old one🤷🏻

Actually I do, old one had rock sliders so that stops it getting to the body 👍

Nope, standard on both. Could be different wheel offset I suppose but it's unlikely- both direct from utility companies with factory looking wheels on.
Thinking back I only had the old one about 6 months before I fitted the rock/tree sliders, which would have caught a lot of the spray before it hit the body. 👍

This one might be a bit better option for a straight 6

not a member so can't see it ... often considered a 4.2 XJ6 motor'd go nice in a defender -- they ran well on LPG -- had one sat in the yard for a while for a donor, but never got around to a swap

It has a Volvo penta 6 cylinder diesel. Should be a little more refined than a 6bt

I had one in my old daimler and it only did 10mpg in that.
yeh, but a lovely ride :giggle: ...
my old man always said to me " don't ever buy a Jag ... you won't want anything else after it "
Was a toss up 'tween an ex-Bulmer's Directors XJ6 4.2 in BRG or my XR4x4i that I had, at an auction one evening ...
fortunately the jag went over the limit I'd set myself for it - whereas the XR was under ...
was a lovely thing to drive and would have another in a heart beat, if I found a really nice one.
All the XR shells (and the Scorpio Grannies) were built in Köln out of Deutche steel and kept incredibly well, compared to the Dagenham dustbins that other Sierras were

I was reading a post last night regarding a brand new xr4i shell that was for sale. Someone was commenting on the shell differences compared to a sierra cosworth.

The daimler was a nice ride and very plush inside. Also you could fit a cement mixer in the back.
I nearly bought a xr4i once but it was too rotten and i couldnt bring myself to pay the ford tax.
