.....which means you need the Salisbury front axle that is also no lightweight.
Probably ends up with even less payload than an "arborists" transit

How big is the engine? That sounds a bit on the heavy side to me.

Keep looking at defenders and series as my dad seems very reluctant to let of his series 2 garden decoration that hasn't moved in 10 years but the prices seem to be all over the place. Seems to be a little spike in defenders but not sure if it's a time of year thing and people are panicking about snow.

Im after a defender ambulance now as I want something you can get a dirt bike in the back of.
I suppose you could make a box for a hi cap but there is nothing too appealing about. There is a hi cap on ebay but it sounds like a load of rot welded back togther. There is a nice looking hi cap td5 on market place but i want something older, preferably a 200 tdi.

Trouble with land rovers is a lot of sellers ask for silly money. Ones that actually sell are more like this

1994 Land Rover Defender 110 Hi Cap, very rare factory 200Tdi in Coniston Green with a soft top. Pickup bed has a few creases in and has had a couple of repairs in the past (see pics), but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance.

those wheels are gonna cover the vehicle in tish, being so wide/protruding beyond the body width, unshieldedlooks good but its a td5
