I remember going to Cardiff circa 2008 with hilux and ifor Williams flatbed trailer and towing home a Harrison 460 lathe. Got loaded up and set off, all was well until we hit the motorway and got up to speed and immediately got into a tank slapper and only just managed to keep from over turning in the middle of the road. Had to stick to 50 mph all the way to speyside  got the truck now and she never gets over loaded ;)
what is it about Caerrrrrrdiff  ..... not long after I first started .... ran a SWB Siii diesel and flatbed Salopian .... sale in the C place and bought a load of plate ... by the tonne, unusually at an auction ... you know how it is ..... was very cheap and it got ossed onto the Salopian, 'til it looked about right ;) ..... came out over their weighbridge ..... 6t 11cwt gross  ...... was not taking it back off ...... a very slow drive home ..... .... but not as far as you :(

Yes got a set of pallet tines for it too, never seen one like it before with proper legs like a crane instead of fold down things
John sutch city crane, but couldn’t see how the steering wheel had a mechanical linkage to the base unit:unsure:

I have vague recollections that Locatelli do one too ;) or may be a crane with a fork head ... can't remember
Think the City cranes are all hydraulic steering ... they'm plant, not road vehicle, so don't need a mechanical linkage .... like Jakes, dumpers, etc.

Are but wheeled excavators and dumpers only do 18 mph or should do so hydrostatic will do, but these cranes travel on motorways so surly they should have a mechanical steering linkage:unsure:

Stuck crane
wants his head felt even going on there  .... they might call them all terrain cranes but they are far from it  ..... total misnomer

looks like a lawn with some gravel sprinkled over it .... there's bog mats there ....... jack it straight up, beams in and persuade 'em under the wheels ... drive out and come back when they've stoned up a decent stand :giggle: .... typical Tricky Dicky job
