Cromford
Maybe they should pay for a lorry rather than block up the roads so they can dick around pretending it's 1852 again?10mins from me, felt sorry for the poor sods driving traction engines there in the downpours on Friday.
I like the fish and chip shop down the road...... I will see you next year10mins from me, felt sorry for the poor sods driving traction engines there in the downpours on Friday.
Looking at some pictures from the the show, it looked a proper mud bath there.10mins from me, felt sorry for the poor sods driving traction engines there in the downpours on Friday.
I took my Landy in for a massively discounted COVID-special oil change/check over to the main dealer on Saturday (I wouldn’t normally go there, and did it just to take advantage of the service stamp). They had a Defender just like the one in your pic in the showroom and it was £75k…….Home now.
Friday was bad.... Saturday was dry but the fields waterlogged in the morning from the prior days unforcasted deluges.
Got to watch Landover on slicks Friday which was very funny......
Saturday me and Mr X went and sorted brakes on a Foden.....
And we got mugs..... Very enjoyable.
Apparently they should of broken even on the show.... Which is very important. I've already said I'll be there next year!
Got the last new window for the Hymac and a oil cooler.
Lovely new front window Rory ... lucky find that - wiper and all ...... and that is a one hell of an oil coolerHome now.

Apparently they have 40k of them on back order ...cannot cope with demand...secondhand late model discos etc going for bonkers prices atm.I took my Landy in for a massively discounted COVID-special oil change/check over to the main dealer on Saturday (I wouldn’t normally go there, and did it just to take advantage of the service stamp). Say what you like about landy atm they know how to shift stuff. Don't know about anyone else but all I see and hear is folk bashing landy for not staying true to their routes and how the new defender is crap etc etc? I'd call it damn good success ? How many "landrover fans" have ever bought a landrover brand new? But that's my wonky two pennyworth. It's never going to be a jap pickup contender ..once we get over that and see it what it is ...oh and I've high hopes that the new Def is going to be reliable...it's not made here FFS.![]()
How dare you!Personally for me it's not about Landrover sticking to there roots etc etc..... The bottom line is to me there product range is now a fleet of yuppiemobiles that will be utilised as cars by posh twats..... The same posh twats who's children will harp on about the planet etc etc.
What landrover has become is a brand which a lot of people aspire to be seen in. It doesn't matter about the quality of the cars (or clear lack of) those with enough money or who run their finances based on cost per month just have to have one on the driveway so the neighbours see it. They are not interested in sticking to their roots one bit its all about keeping the brand desirable to those who can justify paying for what imho are way overpriced vehicles (although if you are a lease/hp type buyer they maybe don't seem too bad).Personally for me it's not about Landrover sticking to there roots etc etc..... Yup. The RangeRover Sport in either black or white is ubiquitous around these parts, even amongst people my age with middle manager jobs. New build estates are full of them. What landrover has become is a brand which a lot of people aspire to be seen in. Exactly and that's the target market. I laugh everytime i hear or read anyone going on about the cost of the new defender and as a work vehicle its too expensive or complicated or gonna be expensive to repair bodywork wise. There's no money in the 30k work truck when some extra electric gizmos and different interior trim (generic across the whole range mostly so not actually very expensive) can get you 60k plus.Yup. It’s not far from me. I’d definitely be up for catching up and putting faces to names if you guys are going next year.Lovely new front window Rory ... lucky find that - wiper and all ...... and that is a one hell of an oil cooler

Went round the halewood factory a few years back and that's almost the exact words of the bloke that did the tour...why sell a few 30k defenders when you can sell loads of 70k rangies and discos.Exactly and that's the target market. I have an early Range Rover Sport. I would like to think it is slightly more premium than the Disco 3 which it is based on!! Perhaps I am just a snob!! Or was it just cheaper than a D3!!I don't really understand the range rover sport or the Evoque, I can understand the place for most the models but I cannot fathom why any one buys a car with such a small interior compared to exterior.
Just in terms of day to day life they barely seen big enough to fit a week's worth of shopping, especially when the discovery and discovery sport have generous sized boots. The new defender is a bit the same
It's very narrow at the top and looks very enclosed.
I also don't understand why they seem to almost exclusively be bought by people who aren't capable of driving them.
