Didn’t see any confusion in what Boris said, it was the overlay added by the BBC and Starmer afterwards that probably gave people an excuse to be “confused”, plus the papers jumping the gun last week and reporting What they thought would happen as fact. Starmer tried to make out people and companies only have 12 hrs to prepare, but the workplace guidance has been out for weeks and a lot of bigger companies have prepared for phased return, social distancing etc. Obviously not everyone will be starting back, but furlough hasn’t finished yet.

Have had a letter today asking me if I would participate in a random trial of the home testing kit/setup/track the spread sort of thing. The answer is of course is yes regardless of my own conspiracy theories on the whole subject I'd be a utter twat not to gob on a swab for science

The interesting thing will be if I prove to of had it. If so I'd be almost f****ng certain It was the s**t I had over Christmas/new years.....for one that's the only time i've been bad, and two it's the only time anyone else in the house has been sick.

i know several people like you, in Jan, were in bed grogged up with flu like symptoms. Very interest to see the results.

me too ... I was one of 'em .. wiped out for two weeks .. and @Cyberprog .. hit me 2nd Jan, just as I started on me P38's front end job ..... hefalump sat on my chest for 4ish days, plus all the other 'symptoms' !!

Same here, we think we had it (or something very similar, a cynic might think that it was maybe a trial run? Bit of a test?) at Christmas too. It didn’t seem to get me as bad as my Mrs, she was in a bit of a state for a couple of weeks, I was only proper laid up for a couple of days but took time to really get my energy back.
We spent Christmas with my dad though, he got away with it, not saying we were not being careful, I mean who wants to pass on a cold or flu? But we weren’t quarantined, that’s for sure! So what we had was possibly not as contagious as this is current virus is? Or is this current virus as contagious as they are telling us it is?

French docs reckon they treated Covid patients, unknowingly, in December, so who knows.......

Yeah in principle,was on a job,2m queuing to get in,one way system round building,hand sanitizer etc.....then supervisors come right upto machine window,walk upto you going to office n other workers in groups?....
After a morning briefing spaced out in yard,some people just don't get it,......and covid19 I don't want to get it

Have y'all seen the pictures from China? They are cleaning money, sanitizing streets and the people wuhan are all still wearing masks. They have put up plexiglass dividers on tables in restaurants. It's too early for me to have my tin foil cap on this morning so here we go...... There were some initial reports from China of covid causing sterelity. This seems like something that would warrant the various government's responses(and something that they wouldn't want us to know for panic reasons).

Also it appears a person is not immune from getting it again after beating it the first time. I think all the talk of vaccines and herd immunity are just passifiers.

im positive about that oxford study. I signed up to the one day sooner website to volunteer for vaccine then exposure to virus but don't think much will come of it. Apparently one of the biggest reasons these vaccines take time is because it is unethical to then expose someone to the virus, they have to hope it happens naturally...

I think that's the thing about it though, it may not be the perfect testing job we all want but still will give an indication of how widespread it is through the population.
