Donāt get me started on GPās, the Lord Lucans of the NHS. 12 years ago I had gout. Saw a GP, diagnosed immediately and on the meds, and a couple of weeks later it had cleared up.
Had another attack this year, after countless minutes in the phone queue, a nurse practitioner who sent me for the wrong blood tests, another
who hadnāt read my notes before calling me back with my blood test results and just wanted to blame everything on my lifestyle, I managed to speak to a GP after nearly six weeks. The only plus was that by the time I was diagnosed I was sixty and eligible for free prescriptions, which theyāre now talking about scrapping.
Sorry, old fartās rant. I normally leave that to Druid.
