Following a few recent cases locally they think some of the new strains of virus may only be reliably picked up by pcr test. Schools etc only use lateral flow test so it could be rife and they'd never know.

So begs the question...if it's rife and they don't know....unless folk are dropping dead what's the issue?

Don't know that it is or isn't though. I actually think if they were honest they'd vaccinate 35+ and let under 35s rely on herd immunity. Ultimately will likely have to be that way to an extent as bulk of those not having vaccine are younger.

Think you may well be right...
Wife and eldest son do 2 flow tests a week. (She's volunteer at school) all posted out via NHS ....all made in china ...then there's the huge test centres staffed by a small army...seen the one at J34 Lancaster? Never seen more than 1 or two cars in it. Wtf the bills gonna be😳

That confirmed in my mind that not bothering wasn't going to negativity affect anyone.......

Mask are personal choice, nobody can force you to wear one.if you feel you need a mask to save yourself or someone else then crack on, but it’s your choice

Valid point but the fact that you need to prove your exempt or cause a scene means it's not personal choice...shops have "it's law signs" etc ...that's what pisses me off...we don't have a choice as such.. @Jimoz is right I should just fk I guess.

you do not have to prove anything, it’s a myth. You do not have to tell anyone why you do not wear one if you do not wish to. And nobody can force you to give a reason.

At the same time for short durations like going into a shop for a pint of milk or to pay for fuel etc there is no real excuse to not be able to wear one. To wear one for hours on end is another thing though.

It doesn’t matter the duration, the fact remains that it’s your choice to wear or not to wear

Try doing the steam special over settle to Carlisle etc...in the heat no Aircon etc ...muzzles soon disappeared 😉 recommend it though apart from that 👍

It may be your choice, but at the same time it's possible that everyone else in the in the shop thinks mask wearing is beneficial, so out of respect for others maybe wearing one isn't such a bad thing.

So the reasons/beliefs/wishes of someone not wearing a mask are not worthy of respect?

I think masks had there place, it made sense to me, if the virus was rampant in certain parts then yes they could stop people spreading it as bad when coughing etc!
I wear one when I need to etc, but yes I think it's time to move forward and do away with them as the numbers are well down now, I haven't heard of a case locally in about 3 months.......

Masks...same here I avoid anywhere unless fixed like fuel station on mway . Apart from that it's online all the way...time a few shops just quietly didn't police it...and looked the other way ..otherwise they ain't gonna have any customers...kinda wonder if at some point those that cling onto covid and use it as an excuse for crap service need to wake up.
I went into a garden center the other day. A fairly big one with multiple stores. Anyway big sign by the entrance saying we will still serve customers with or without a mask- the choice is yours.
Needless to say I didn’t wear one and spent quite sometime in there- first enjoyable shop since it all began. Most people were still wearing them though.!
