Cordless Post Hole Auger

saw the makita version earlier this year but am a DeWalt user due to the better flexvolt batteries. They dont have a dedicated equivalent but do have a flexvolt paddle mixer with a clutch to stop it snapping your wrist. Got my hands on it and a 200mm flight off the makita.

Very powerful, at least as good as the stihl 2-stroke without all the hassle.

I made an adaptor up to run cheap Chinese flights on the makita cordless drill. It’s handy.

its the upgrade to this one, they only sell it in america for some reason so had to get it collected by a friend. It's a beast of a motor on it, massive torq and slow. 54v range is great kit.

its a pin to chuck type adaptor so you can swop to different flights.

Its the DCD130T, i paid $320 and that included a 6ah 54V battery. Just shows how we ripped off in the UK.

would like to see it do it here .... the Stihl one worked hard enough when I bored the holes for the trellis fence, years ago ... and the two of us did too, hanging onto it .... that was 8" holes

I used to have a great video (in the days before you could easily move things off your phone) of one of my lads at the time trying desperately to catch hold of and stop a Stihl auger that had hit a rock and thrown him off. But not before it had locked on to half throttle position on the handle!

Tbh I don't think any modern stuff is bad or struggles it's just a case of pick your colour and get the best model in the range.
They all work and they all break.
Any comments otherwise is mostly fanboys.

Ive got 54v sds, recip and the 4" grinder and a a few 18v wood work bits

The sds is good, true corded power but cordless, don't buy the Screwfix version as its less powerful than the other versions that are sold.

Not too sure how the recip and grinder compare to 18v but cost was near enough the same for bare 54v Vs bare 18v

Good thing with the flexvolts is being able to use the batteries in 18v kit.

The 54v wormdrive circular saw is meant to be excellent but not tried it.

I have a few Milwaukee bits but not tried any if their equivalents against the 54v stuff
