2590kg transport weight. So a bit of scope to bring for a few buckets etc on the trailer too. It also has a 4cyl 1.5l engine in it.

I wouldn't say the engine is any better than a 3 cylinder, although there would be scope to de-restrict it from the 26hp. Got that engine in my Multione.

Yeah. Although the chap who's digger it was also has 4 U27s which run the 3 cyl. He recked the 4 cyl in the kx27 was smoother and quieter, the 3cyl would throb at certain rpm and cause quiet a lot of cab drum. Just what he said. I think the 3cyl is also smaller cc in my mind I'd prefer a larger engine.

Price and spec ?

I haven't had a price. This wasn't the dealers yard, just a hire fleet. But you can either have it in basic spec which is foot pedal for the aux. Or hi spec version which I think has grab and rotate lines plus on rockers on the joystick.

Built in Germany.

I went and had a go on brand new kubota Kx027-4 today. Didn't work it just spent a bit of time in someones yard. Definitely struck me as a well put together machine. It all looked pretty good quality to me and well thought out. Seemed smooth and hungry for work. I wonder why it isn't raved about more on here a nice transportable weight too with buckets etc ? Decent spacious cab with excellent visibility and most importantly a proper overhanging counterweight... Only thing I wished is that you could clean up against the blade without having to offset. Its also quite narrow at 1400mm but not always a bad thing ..

No I wanted a comparison to the wacker ez26 price, I actually fancied the kx 30-4 but to heavy for the trailer

I've mentioned it before but I would recommend you try out à kx30-4 before you buy as my mates is horrible to grade with, you don't want your hard earned in something that's not nice to operate..esp if it's your main machine.

I’d sooner run about a touch heavy than suffer too small a machine for the tilty. Not saying the kx27 is, as I think it’s a conventional tail?

True but with the kx030-4 you'd be way over weight with a tilty too. Its not a problem I guess if you live in a reletively level area, but the amount of issues I've had getting my TB125 up steep mud and algae covered hills etc,

I graded on the concrete with the 027-4 keeping the edge an inch above the concrete and found it pretty smooth especially since I hadn't had time to adjust to it etc. The tail swing is the same radius between kx030 and kx27 but there's a 200kg difference so perhaps counterweight heavier and it's also 10cm wider.

Yes it is but 4k more than wacker

The KX30 is I think actually 2800kg so not 3t. You've got a bit of wiggle room.

Yeah 2800kg and 2590kg respectively transport weight. That doesn't include a hitch but a direct small bucket, the Strickland hyd hitch on the Kx027 was 70kg which seemed rather heavy to me?

Thats got the heavier 204 on it too, would suit an 02 much better

Here's a question. Do any of these diggers now clean the grading bucket up against the blade. I was a bit surprised how far short the kx027 stopped short of the blade- a good foot I'd say. My tb125 will meet the blade quite easily

My vote for old and great no longer with us, would be Hitachi EX60-2

Its a progression thing. Imo everything should always get better. So when I buy something 15 years newer then what I already have now its a bit annoying to have to then compromise.
My perfect towable digger would be.
-2.6t
-35-40mm bucket pins
-Full counterweight
-Bucket to meet the blade
- min of 1.5l engine
- full offset boom to the left.
- space behind the seat to fit a patterdale terrier
-dealer within an hour

If I can find something that did all that I'd buy tomorrow.

Just wait eurocomach now do a 1.9t with a 3 piece boom. Wait for it to catch on and there will be no problems
