If you have CPCS logo on NPORS card i believe you have to do an NVQ within a certain time to renew it.You cant keep renewing it like a plain NPORS..
I know 2 excellent freelance NPORS trainers i would reccomend. One near Oxford(will travel a fair way) other near Cannock.Both up for some weekends as well..

You can't get any work employed without it though.
I spoke to a fencing company on the mainland who are too far away to be honest, £12 per hour and must have CSCS. I know CSCS should be cheap but the only place over here insists on you doing some other nonsense so it's £200 or more.
I've not seen a single job for a digger driver that doesn't stipulate "must have cpcs or npors".

Got my letter today, CSCS telling me that because I did City & Guilds back in 1980/82 and have held a Gold CSCS card for some 30+ years, that apparently my NVQ3 trainee who has never been on site, and has absolutely no experience, can escort me on site with his Gold CSCS card, I see this as being very dangerous, not just for the NVQ3 but for operatives on site.

It’s what I do!
I suppose the other way of looking at it is, send the trainee with NVQ3 and CSCS to site, tell the site “its broken” we will get it lifted on a lorry and back to yard for the experienced engineers to fix, we will get it back as soon as they have fixed it!
