What didn't you like about it? Personally wouldn't contemplate a zero in this size class. Just spent a bit of time using customers JCB 4.7t. It's the most unstable pointless machine ever. No point having all the power if the machine can't handle it.

They aren't really designed for your kind of work though. Zero swing are absolutely superb on house sites and compact sites.
Even with a 1.5t full tail swing I sometimes feel really restricted and spend all day with the arse rubbing barriers. I have spent hours digging just having to use the kingpost as you can't slew.
Also caters for those who don't look behind them.
I really dislike conventional tail swing machines but most of what I do is really cramped so conventional machines are just extra work

Like you say Its horses for courses and all that, i have a u17 kub and although its horrible its very handy having no arse swing for the jobs it does.

Is port Talbot near llandarcy refinery that was I used to work down there on the decontamination I think they have now built houses where the refinery was no chance I would buy one I know what's underneath in the soil and its nasty

I find it noisy - dipper too short - slew ring too waggy - and the whites hitch although not kubotas fault entirely is just horrible, the geometry is way off.
Only thing is you know it will start when you go to it.

I was disappointed with the U17 as soon as i took it off the wagon, it was bought on reputation as people seem to like them, but not me unfortunately.
The ET65 WN was the only machine ive had on demo.....I bought the 8t Kub untried and on reputation and never really took to that either so wasnt going to make the mistake of buying untried again.
But yeah getting off the WN and engcon onto that today hasnt helped any ......I was grumbling about it and the mrs said get off it and use the sodding shovel if you dont like it

It couldn't lift as much as my 216 with out tipping, it didn't have enough bucket downforce to load itself into a trailer without ramps, boom swing didnt have as many degrees, the blade wasn't made as sturdy, the controls (especially tracks) had a slight delay compared to the pilots that I'm am used to and the skid steer track control seemed like a gimmic for people who can't drive with their feet.

The ac was awesome, boom swing and slew in the cat were faster and stronger in the 302 than the 216. I had it for about a week so I gave it a pretty good run around.

Done some work on a 303, my thoughts were that it was a bit noddy, but if I was fitting a tilt rotator to one I’d want a shorter stick. Everything else was fine, but resale anyone’s guess. There’s a lot of toys to go wrong.

I would have to have a lot of faith in my local Cat dealer to invest
I know you can’t avoid electronics nowadays but that looks very dependent on a man with a laptop

Just looked through my emails and December last year they were £28k Inc vat.

2k price rise in 9mths
