Also I don't know how height restrictor works but surely you don't need all that pipe work and valve block?

you have to stop the boom lift / slew circuit operating somehow Mart .. easiest way is additional hydraulic valve control over servo circuit -- an interrupter -- get to the height set (probably electrically with an angle sensor) and it switches the interrupter solenoid off, killing the servo feed to the main valve block -- they all look to be 1/4" lines ... your slew issue could be in the sensor feeding the 'brain' or more likely, those connectors feeding the interrupter solenoids -- give them some independent power as I suggested above -- will get you working

Sounds like you've found your dodgy connection then. Whilst @V8Druid is correct the lit LED doesn't confirm that the solenoid is activated it does tell you the system is trying to supply that valve with a power feed so handy from a diagnostic point of view.

this is fiddly but ..... get a dress making pin and cut the head off --- shove it into one end of the broken wire and repeat in t'other .... once got me an' the GF home from N Wales in a Mk3 escort, with half a safety pin in the dizzy lead inside the dizzy, where the rotor had worn the wire away ... her car and no tools on board ..... got the cap off with a nail file ...... was a very long day as kept letting go every 10-15 miles and had to start again

Finally think I've found the source of all the problems thanks for all the suggestions, seriously corroded connector behind the seat under the heating duct

well this repair didnt fix the problem,had m b k down harness f***ed pump controller cables and plug melted,broken slew restrictor wires all connectors green with water ingress . i paid 38k for machine done 400hrs and been on stop for 5 months,got quote from m b k to replace harness as requested by supplier £27500.00 no guarantee to fix problem ,absolutely fxxkin fuming

huge sympathy with your plight Martyn, but it's the 'aftermarket' installs that've let you down badly here ... Think I'd be going down the unfit for purpose route and looking to the dealers to sort the entire issue ... very VERY annoying

so they were obviously aware of an issue from the outset trading std.s officers might be a reasonable port of call as an inexpensive start to proceedings ... bought local or off?

m b k byepassed slew restrictor when they came to do report but i had already found broken wires,trading standards been contacted and finance company.as for the supplier i wont name them yet but if i dont get any joy soon i will not hesitate

depends what you're doing, I'd have thought ... could be doing 10hrs/day x 6 days a week on a muckshift ... could well be less

aviation type GX plugs/sockets - waterproof

those connectors are "ok" but not special and they have no seals, so not waterproof.
No idea why they are called 'aviation' plugs - aviation/mil used much better plugs than those (with a price to suit)

name and shame - stealers and finance co., if they're not prepared to help ..... looks like trading std.s is going to be your best hope ..... goods not fit for purpose

trading std.s is supposed to police the standard by which Co.s trade .... this lot are obviously not complying with those std.s ... I'd be pushing them a LOT harder Martyn ... other wise WTF is the point of having a standard by which reputable companies are supposed to trade by ...... makes a mockery of it all ...... they both have legal obligations, the seller in particular, to their customers

more than that they - they are legally required to be FIT FOR INTENDED PURPOSE/USE
