Anyone else think it's ideal that the BBC is now the police watchdog and that's it's role to go round filming police officers secretly and then blow the whole thing up on a documentary?

Not defending bad apples but it's a sh*t job at best of times and I'm sure we're all guilty of an off day. Just seems to fit right into Khans angry little anti police stance once again.

This was more than an off day - deliberately dislocating someone’s fingers when taking fingerprints? I have no problem with the “bad apples” (or “vindictive, spiteful, thugs in uniform”) getting caught. Neither do the majority who are decent. As we’re constantly told, if they’ve done nothing wrong, they’ve nothing to worry about.

didn't see it ... the Met has always had a rep. for heavy handed policing going back 40/50+ years ..... TBH it's a tough place requiring tough policing IMHDO and there will always be the idiots/tossers/those who should not be in uniform who infiltrate -- I can think of a few locally that should not be 'in the job'

Had Serge and his missus here yesterday .. he's 65 this year and we were talking pensions .. he will have to wait 'til he is sixty six and a half for his state pension -- WTF did that happen then ?? anyone else heard about it ??????

Depends on the council. But most will have specs for the test pit size to standardise it and make it easy for there own staff. Locally I think Soakaway is 600mm x 2m x 2.5m. and percolation is a 300mm square at a set depth.

Percolation for septic doesn't actually need much more than a shovel and a couple 25L drums target depth wants to be around 600-800 below ground. Deeper and the aerobic bacteria that lives in the system won't thrive and the field won't work properly.

Soakaway tests are different again.... Tractor bowser for that.

If I'm honest it's fast becoming the remit of a geotechnical engineer and some councils will pull funny faces unless the calcs come on headed notepaper from one.

last time I looked into it you could still get a paper license (if you didn't want a plastic one) on request
