Tbf I'm getting sick of this whole use "cash it's going to be taken away" saga. Only folk who use cash in any serious quantities now are drug dealers and pikeys....if it hampers them I'm all for it.
It's not about who uses it. It is about the fact once it's gone you are under total control of bankers and governments. I do none but take cash out of cashpoint to pay for most private things, what I buy has feck all to do with anyone else unless I cause harm to them.
I know someone after CV signed up to some app in local that was only how you could buy a pint.
App showed regular on bank statement they were refused loan / mortgage.
They had enough capital and property by far to payback what they were asking for

I used to get paid in cash a lot .... too much to lose ... so used it to pay any local suppliers, like gas oil, etc. ... was better than having to pay the banks to pay it in ... and now it would be a must do if the above is true
probably averaged £5-7k a month, in folding.

Problem is the people making the rules can't be trusted.
A quote I once heard along the lines of.
You can never take a people's freedom, they must give it to you.
I think it's very apt listening to the news everyday and exactly what the government are up to.
even wing nut has his concerns ......... and he's responsible for a LOT of what is going down ATM
he's baled out of Wales and bought big acreage in Romania

There was no pressure from the palace according to the news!
it's no wonder he wants immunity with a lot of the sh1t that's going on, just around here, apart from Wales wide .... pretty soon there'll be sod all left to even worry about ... his 'ilk' are clawing back their old estates, byt hokk, crook or any means possible .... there is even talk of CPO-ing properties :mad::mad::mad:

A lot of it is taxation and the removal of freedom.
They want to close every tax avenue down amongst the poorer in society. Imagine no cash, just digital transactions.Controlled by banks who become tax collectors/grasses by default. All the little things we pay for or do for a bit of cash, will be tax assessed, therefore will be dearer.
Babysitters, window -cleaners,gardeners,dog walkers etc.. All these things we take for granted will be declareble, therefore dearer.
All the things that we have bought (and paid tax on) and we are now selling on ebay/FB market place. We will be assessed on the 'profit' we make from these transactions. No more 'fun' projects buying cheap cars/plant/tool etc and scouring boot sales for missing bits..
Another upside is the dirt files they can build up on people when they spend some ££ on prostitutes or rent boys...

I cant speak for uk but in europe cash is alive and well despite all their efforts, if it gets to the stage where no cash is accepted hence changes hands then it would go back to bartering which is kinda funny but not.

I get it ...the whole control thing but when it's perfectly acceptable for some jumped up coke dealer to spend 25k in fancy London shops and no one bats an eyelid surely there's a happy medium ? Dunno just fed up of the 2 speed UK ...anyone trying to earn an honest living gets screwed and yet opposite side seems an easy ride.😖

Using their excellent Horizon accounting system then!

The system they had before also led to false accusations of theft, hope that they let Fujitsu into the secret. If they didn't there will be a massive counter-claim for loss of reputation and we know who will be paying for that one 😡
