Just had the sincro out to give it a good clearing of any debris to sort this reverse gear out. I’m hoping this will do the trick. I’ve established its 4 forward & reverse
F2L511 in the 2500 but with the Lister Petter option and in the 9ton a 6 Cylinder! Used to do 50 mph down the dual carriage way (no ROPS)
transmission on the prop usually ..... disc and caliper on my 6t thwaitesDoes anyone know how the handbrake system works on one of these things, all I have is a handle. The brakes are in the axles so obviously no drums to connect a cable to ! I honestly have no clue![]()
I think your right ! It has a disc on the prop shaft… do you recon it’s possible to retro fit a similar Caliper on it. Not sure I’ll get a part for this dumpertransmission on the prop usually ..... disc and caliper on my 6t thwaites
Great pictures much appreciated. The set up looks identical to what’s on mine. From what I can see all that I’m missing is the spring and the G clamp !! I’ve got half a chanceof course, those are them, they have an M5 bolt through with a squared head that fits in the back of the pads.
When you crack off the injector pipe on cylinder No1, do you get fuel out of the injector pipe?I’m hoping this is going to be the last question on this dumper subjectI recon it’s running on 2 out of the 3 cylinders ! I’ve cracked the nuts on each one and don’t get any change in the tick over on the 1st cylinder. Definitely fuel getting there. I removed the injector, split it and made sure the pin inside moved. Everything looked good from a none professional point of view. I’m wondering what your thoughts are ? Should I use the dumper as it is or if it’s an easy ish fix and have a go at a repair ? It’s a shame for it not to be running at its best but how important is it. Tbf I’m not sure what would cause this and how to identify the culprit

I can’t recall if you established that the oil contained diesel? But if it has been ‘making oil’ then this could be the issue. Injecting fuel which cannot be combusted due to lack of compression = diesel in the sump eventuality….

I’ll crack on and do the injector swap over, process of elimination..makes sense . I’ll do a bit of research on the valve clearances and should be ok with that. I’ll let you know how I get onYou could try swapping No1 and No2 injector, see if you move the issue to No2?
But it might be a good idea to whip the rocker box off and inspect the valve gear. Check the clearance on the valves, could have a loose adjuster that’s wound itself down and is holding a valve slightly open? Or possibly it’s got a broken valve spring?
That crossed my mind today as was advised to keep a check on the oil. It sounds like something that could do with addressing. CheersI can’t recall if you established that the oil contained diesel?
