shopping for boots is a nightmare for me ... I have very long, narrow feet, compounded by a collapsed left arch, a well buggered left ankle and the fact I wear a pair of arch/foot supports, that a chiropodist mate of mine tailor made for me , some time ago. My priorities, boot shopping, are 'a little different' ... fit is the main one, followed by comfort and their ability to take what i have to stuff into them, aside from my feet ..... buying on line is a non starter .... if I can't look at and try on a pair, I've no chance ...... oh and my right foot is a size bigger than my left, just to make life really awkward

on the welly front ... Aigle Parcous ... no toe caps .... not cheap, but comfy and warm .... I spend quite a bit of time in 'em in the winter

Had the jallets a week now and they definitely seem a good pair of boots good stiff leather and tall which is what i want so far would recommend just see how long they last

Had the jallet jalsequoia for a year now and it's time to start looking for replacement as had a wet sock today
Question is do I get another pair or is there anything else worth looking at
Only requirements are waterproof and laces

My haix xr3 are still doing well (bought them shortly after twisting my ankle over a year ago), don't think I've ever had a set of boots last as long. Begrudged paying the £140 for them at the time but to be honest will get another set. I've not looked after them and haven't put any sort of dubbing/protector cream on them and are pretty much still waterproof. Waterproof and breathable Gore tex, anti puncture midsole, anti static.
It's an odd one boots many will spend £100+ on a set of trainers that they wear less than 20hrs a week yet spend £30 on a set of boots that don't offer enough protection that they will wear for 50+ hours a week
Also bought a set of seal skin socks for when wearing trainer's/crocs when washing the van/car

at 40 quid a pair i hope they last a f**ks sight longer than my usual thermals do !!

Don’t skrimp paying for cheap boots.as with everything in life you get what you pay for and spend a lot of time wearing them.some of the boys I work with buy cheap boots and reckon I’m made paying £70 for bucklers but they are like slippers once worn in.cheap boots they wear don’t last long and I’m sure they have 2 pairs to my one pair.im sure my bucklers have saved me from a broken ankle too.

Ordered a pair from Engelbert Strauss today as mine fell apart and wanted a pair without a zip up the side
Not as tall as I'd like but hopefully they will last
One day I'll make it to America and buy a decent pair of proper leather boots
