What’s best way to ground them?
my bulk tank set up had a wander lead in soft 8mm cable with a crock clip secured to the base frame, which in turn had a 3 ft earth spike driven itno the ground, plus it was also connected back into my 3ph supply's system too .. just clip onto a decent earth point on the vehicle when dispensing
you could make up a lead with a 3 pin one end using just the earth pin and crock clip on t'other (assuming your leccy system has a good earth point)
forecourt systems have none of this and rely on the dispensing nozzle/gun to make a decent ground connection
you'd have to be pretty unlucky to generate a static spark, but earthing the dispensing/receiving bottles would negate that risk (earth one and jump lead between them)

Cop who attended first thought it had vaporised the guy....but he rolled out flaming into a hedge!
Survived but hospital for months apparently.

And then when he woke up I think he found a few folk wanted a chat 🧐
I've personally dispensed tens of thousands of litres into vehicles and the refillable FLT cylinders ... used to do 2 x 2500L tanks a week sometimes more ... respect is the key word .... and leave yer fag elsewhere:ROFLMAO:

they were all three on one long skid I made for them ... expected an artic to collect - wagon and drag turns up says just put the gas axe though the skid :oops::oops::oops:
all interlinked plumbing wise so had to disconnect it all .... they were empty (wouldn't dispense any more liquid, but 7500L of gaseous propane in 'em)
should all have been purged before doing anything with them, let alone transporting them, but Flogas were cowboys (as I learnt from my various dealings with them over the years):unsure:🤠🤠

Surprised you let them take all that scrap with the tanks 🫣

So I’ve just re-read this whole thread……
I’m considering a big change in what I run, but I need to know what the mower/flail situation is like on the Avants? YouTube clips I’ve seen they do a pants job on the mowers in anything longer than afew weeks growth - maybe flail is better? I’ve only a 2acre paddock to keep nice..
Pallet forks on the 760i / 8.5k Multione - will it unload a pack of bricks/blocks of a wagon?
Think I may give local dealer a nudge for a demo on a 760 🫣 860 is ideal for weights but just seems big and a lot more ££

The flail on the Avant is pretty powerful. They just don't float amazingly, arnt quite wide enough to cut out corners nicely, and get the machine hot especially when dusty and clogging radiators.
If you already have an Avant and want to cut a bit of grass they are ideal. If you want to go commercially cutting grass they are way behind on the list.
Also I cringe at the people using them for brambles lifting them right up in the air especially on the 600 and 700 machines, they are really not stable/heavy enough to be driving in rough ground with weight up that high and no protection to the operator for flying objects.

Ref flail/mower, it will literally just for use at home keeping paddock tidy.. finishing mower would do.

Haven't used the finishing mower but if you have the Avant anyway then the flail mower should be fine for what you want. The corners will take longer with an Avant if you want to do a nice job as it's a bit of shuffling to mow stuff without running it over first. Otherwise you get weird patches of semi cut grass. Whereas the rest will all be even as the flail is at the front. Whereas with a rear mount on a tractor you get even semi cut grass everywhere as the wheels are in front so the corners don't stand out. And if it's uneven it will leave tufts as they don't follow the ground as well as a tractor due to having no oscillating joint or rocking axle

If you were a bit nearer to Norfolk, you would be welcome to try mower, flail, forks etc on my 755i. I use the mower in mulch mode. The Avant collecting mower is pretty useless, definately not recommended. It just does not work unless the grass is bone dry. If the ground has any stones in it, the mower takes a bit of a hammering, so the flail is better in those areas. The problem with the flail is the safety feature which cuts the operation if you point it down into a ditch, but used horizontally it is fine.
The 755i will do a U turn in the barn so anything bigger would not be suitable for me, but it is scarily fast compared to the previous 745, so would not like the two-speed version on my ground.
The lifting limit on the 755i is about 1 1/2 ton I found out recently with a large pallet of cement. I could not quite manage to remove from the HGV but on the ground, it could be picked up and moved. The standard 1 ton pallets of block or bricks is no problem at all. My machine has the two large rear side weights, and a single block on the back.

If your looking to top 2 acres on a regular basis then just buy a topper for your tractor. It will literally do it in a 1/4 of the time. Ive done some flailing but definitely use the tractor more now.

Avants or Multiones are brilliant tools, but they wont replace a tractor or a telehandler if that's what your thinking more of an addition than a replacement.

Ive just sold my 5.3 Multione, but the old one is going no where til I have a replacement 😁 they are a handy tool
