There is definitely S50 knocking around out there. I Have definitely made S50 brackets and a few buckets.
S45 is the "unofficial" UK standard spec..... but if you want S50 il get it for you😀.... but will warn you that the chances of picking up second hand or "borrowing" attachments will be slim😉
Think I said somewhere early, am unused genuine Steelwrist 2Ft S50 went through Euro for £200, and at a bigger saving than thought, spending a few quid on some buckets isn’t going to break the bank.

You’ve got to remember we’ve all had to cross that bridge of getting buckets and headstocks sorted out when we first take the plunge, so in the grand scheme of things it’s not really a problem.🙂

They don’t promote PUP hitches but they still knock them out🤔....and if he did say no, pretty sure @CPS would step up to the mark and send me one across. Like I said, the majority of tiltys stay with the customer for a long long time, with machine been changed more regular than the unit🙂

They don't promote SVAB either 😂

True Rory, but why would I? :)

S45 vs S50: No benefit in breakout torque or maximum machine weight, so when I was faced with the choice 5 years ago I went for S45 as it was more popular and meant I wasn't carrying twice the inventory.

PUP vs S-type. Don't get me started:mad: There are certain customers who must have PUP and we have to accept that, but for an owner-op moving into tiltydom (or even some plant hire companies) the arguments against PUP are just overwhelming.

SVAB vs DC2 (and, I suspect, ICS) "our stuff works best with our stuff". We design, develop, test and warrant the kit we make. There are lots of legacy SVAB units out there but the argument for fitting it on anything other than a green and black unit has long since disappeared. (Steelwrist bought SVAB some time ago).

All of that being said, Ollie hit the nail on the head when he said "a tilty is for life, not just for Christmas". Those S50 units are bargains and you're getting a lot of well-made kit for not a lot. From the description it's a two hose (SS10) setup (which slightly surprised me),so you will have to factor in the installation costs (and perhaps kit),but S50 paraphernalia is available to order from a lot of places (ourselves included).

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
"The Covid-19 pandemic has prompted machinery auction house Ritchie Bros to make its forthcoming events exclusively online."

stuff is either gonna be cheap or not sell ...... HTF do you get to see what you're bidding on, let alone collect it ?? would need to be giveaway prices to risk the blind bidding

General feeling of worry around the place when you see 2020 plate 300 mile crew vans for sale in lines of 20

I was up there yesterday picking up a couple of machines up, one of them, was an ex mv Kelly, and came out of the middle of a large row of them.
Guessing by the queue to get it to load it must of been a big one, though last time I collected from there, it was in via the first gate, with a few old portakabins for offices . It`s a bit smarter now!
